It’s funny… I’m always reminding my clients to book regular trims, use a good mask, and look after their hair. But sometimes I’m the one who lets my own hair go a little too long between appointments! 🤭

So here’s my little reminder that healthy hair isn’t about being perfect, it’s about looking after it consistently. And yes… I definitely need to take my own advice and use a hair mask a bit more often! 😂

Humidity is not your hair’s friend!
So let’s talk humidity……because this summer in New Zealand has been more muggy than sunny ☔️
When the air is humid, moisture gets into the hair shaft and causes it to swell. This lifts the cuticle, which is why hair becomes frizzy, puffy and harder to manage……especially if your hair is fine or colour-treated, like mine🥴

This is where masking becomes essential….trust me it makes a HUGE difference!

A good hair mask helps:
✨Smooth and seal the cuticle
✨Replace lost moisture
✨Reduce frizz and flyaways
✨Keep hair softer and more controlled in humid weather

Think of it as humidity armour for your hair💛

🔥 Heat protection is vital — especially for fine or colour-treated hair.
Every time you use a straightener, curler or blow dryer without protection, you’re weakening the hair shaft and increasing breakage.

A good heat protectant helps:
✔ reduce moisture loss
✔ protect colour
✔ prevent long-term damage

It’s a small step that makes a big difference to your hair health🩷
