Kay's Way Hair Design Te Aroha

Well it’s all done. Lawsyn came home from Sydney for a long weekend to give my a hand sort things out in the Salon and take her pictures of the walls, with the help of brother Craig and Friends, Kristine and Phyllis the weekend was a huge success making a large dent in clearing out Kay’s Way for that last time. It’s taken a few more weeks to get everything else sorted but at last it’s all done. I’d like to thank all my clients, new and old from near and far for their custom, support and friendship over the 38 ½ yrs I have owned Kay’s Way Hair Design and some that I’d had as Clients since the beginning of my Hairdressing apprenticeship almost 50 yrs ago. To all of my staff over that time, thank you for your sharing in part of my journey. You’ve all tort me something different about myself and about Hairdressing.

I returned to Hairdresser after I returned from Europe because I wanted to, not because I had to, as I could have stayed in Travel but felt Hairdressing was still my passion and Te Aroha was always my home.

Thankyou to all those offer of help to clear out the salon, sometimes you just need to potter away at something’s yourself. A way to say goodbye to 38 yrs of my life.

I leave Kay’s Way to start my retirement, truely the next chapter in my life. I’ll still be around, helping out in the community where I can.

I’d like to thank all of those that’s sent me their good wishing or attended my farewell drinks at the RSA.

I’ve been asked what I’m going to do? As if there is nothing to do in Te Aroha. I have a long list of things I’ve always wanted to do but haven’t had time to do, hopefully I haven’t left it to late for most. A little more travels on the books and looking forward to returning home and not having to go back to work the next day.

I’m still doing my Tai Chi and am doing some extra courses because I can.

I never did get to finish that book I was writing, maybe I’ll dig it back out again.

As always I’m doing it my way , Kay’s Way, when the time felt right for me. ❤️

KaysWay entered into the Business Awards this year.Along with other hard working businesses in the Matamata Piako District. Even tho the judging committee didn't recognise my 37 yrs in business and the commitment to the Town and Community the process of the application for the wards was very positive, the testimonial I received from client, old and new where heart warming and as a result I felt as if I had wrong already because the only opinions that really matters are my Clients. Thankyou to all involved. ❤️
