✨ Children’s Nails: Pretty, Safe & Age Appropriate ✨

One question I get asked quite often is, “Do you do children’s nails?” The answer is yes, with a parent or guardian’s consent.

I offer children’s nails up to the age of 16 years, using either regular nail polish or gel polish, also press ons are a possibility (not glued) depending on what is most suitable.

What many people don’t realise is that children’s nails are very different from adult nails. They are thinner, softer, and still developing, which means they need to be treated with extra care.

Because of this, I don’t perform the same preparation that I would on adult nails. I avoid filing the natural nail and keep prep to an absolute minimum. I also use as few products and chemicals as possible, as young skin is much more delicate.

💜 This does mean their nails won’t last as long as an adult gel manicure, and that’s completely normal. My priority has never been making them last as long as possible. My priority is protecting the health of their natural nails while still letting them enjoy having pretty nails for a special occasion or simply because it makes them smile.

Every child is different, so I’ll always chat with both the child and their parent or guardian beforehand to make sure the service is suitable.

Beautiful nails are wonderful, but healthy little nails will always come first. 💅✨
