Congratulations to Kat Cuttriss - the winner of my Nutrimetics prize draw to win one of my portraits. Kat used her prize to treat her Mother to a special Birthday gift - I created a pastel portrait of her beautiful border collie. It was lovely to receive the photo of her mother and dog with the portrait.

The school holidays are almost over and I have been lucky enough to have enjoyed a week off work with my son. I hope all if you with children have managed to keep them entertained. A highlight for us was experiencing FINALE : BOUQUET by Nike Savvas at Te Papa. I don't think I've ever enjoyed an art installation as much as this one! I could have spent an hour or more looking into it, walking around it and through it - it brought me pure joy as I experienced it with my family.

What have you enjoyed over the school holidays?

Spring has definitely arrived in our garden! I'm loving watching and listening to the tui in the kowhai tree as I get on with painting the inside of the studio. What do you love about spring?

Thank you to all of you who are now following my page...haere mai (welcome)! I've had a glorious time down at Waikanae River this evening creating te kaitiaki i te awa (a river guardian). Stone balancing is one of my favourite ways to relax and I love leaving them for others to discover.
