CI numbers matter, but they don’t tell the whole story. Formulation matters too. Ratios, binders, milling, raw material quality and how everything is combined can completely change how a pigment behaves.
At some point, theory has to meet real healed results.

Mature brows are very much my niche 🤎
Mature NZ skin often comes with a combination of sun exposure, redness, textural changes and a more delicate barrier, which means it simply cannot be tattooed the same way as younger skin.
Technique has to change. Pressure has to change. Saturation has to change. And colour choice matters too.
With mature skin, the amount of warmth that is lost during healing can vary hugely. In many cases, brows can ash out quite intensely with very little warmth left behind. For that reason, I prefer to tattoo with a little bit of “insurance” in the colour choice rather than risk them healing too cool.
If they heal warmer than expected, I can always adjust them slightly ashier at the touch-up. It gives me much more control over the final healed result.
My aim is always to give enough definition to restore the brow, while keeping the result soft, flattering and appropriate for the face.

A little colour can change EVERYTHING 💋
This is exactly why I love lip blush.
We brought back definition through the border, evened out the natural lip tone and added a soft rosy flush that completely brightens her face without looking like a heavy lipstick tattoo.
And that shape 😮💨
Fresh lip blush will always appear stronger immediately after treatment. As these heal, the colour will soften significantly into a much more subtle, sheer tint.

A small update to my working hours.
From the week of 19 October, I’ll be condensing my client days to Monday to Wednesday for a short period of time.
The aim is simply to create a longer break between working weeks, while still keeping regular availability, including late nights on Mondays and Tuesdays.
My client hours will be:
Monday: 9:30am to 8:00pm
Tuesday: 9:30am to 8:00pm
Wednesday: School hours
Thursdays will be set aside for admin, training and behind the scenes work.
This change is only intended to be temporary, and I’ll reassess things as I go.
Because I’ll be working across fewer client days, appointments may book a little further in advance, so please plan ahead where possible.

Tattooing over old PMU does not automatically make it a correction.
If the previous pigment is too saturated, the colour is undesirable, the shape needs significant changing, or there simply isn’t enough room in the skin to create a beautiful long-term result, adding more pigment over the top can just be a temporary bandaid.
It might look better initially.
But what happens after another year? Another touch-up? Another layer?
Sometimes the best thing we can do for a client is remove some of what is already there first, then rebuild properly.
And on the flip side, if the previous PMU is beautifully faded and you can simply work over it with very little compromise, please stop calling every single one a “correction” 😂
Sometimes it’s just a refresh.
A true correction means we’re actually correcting something, whether that’s colour, shape, saturation, placement, or another problem created by the previous work.
There are absolutely cases where old PMU can be successfully refreshed or worked over.
But when removal would genuinely give the client the better long-term result, adding another layer over the top isn’t always the answer.
Not every cover-up is a correction.
And not every bit of previous PMU needs correcting.
Removal isn’t failure.
Sometimes it’s part of good PMU. 🤎

Lip blush should look like your lips… just better. 💋
Not lipstick.
Not a block of colour.
And definitely not a completely different lip shape.
This is fresh lip blush PMU, so the colour will look brighter, warmer and more saturated immediately after treatment.
That’s normal.
As the lips heal, the colour softens significantly and blends with your natural lip tone.
The goal of good lip blush tattooing is to enhance what is already there.
Not overpower it.
That means choosing the right pigment, respecting the natural lip shape and knowing when not to add more.
One of the biggest mistakes is judging lip blush from the fresh result alone.
Fresh ≠ healed.
Expect some swelling, brighter colour and a few questionable healing stages 😂
Don’t pick or peel.
Follow your aftercare.
Protect your lips from excessive sun exposure.
And give them time.
Beautifully healed lip blush permanent makeup should leave you with softer, more balanced colour that still looks like you.

If your brows have faded grey, it’s probably time for a reset. ✨
Adding more pigment over old, saturated brows might make them look warmer and fresher initially, but that warmth often fades again within 3–6 months, revealing the same grey underneath.
At that point, you’re simply adding more pigment to an already saturated canvas without getting much longevity from your new set.
Sometimes removing what’s no longer serving you first gives you a much better foundation for your next set of brows. 🤎
