Whispers in Ink
When words become too heavy to carry, I let the ink speak. Every page holds a piece of my heart, every whisper tells a story. โ๏ธ

The Pancakes That Motherhood Made ๐ฅ๐ค
I was about to make pancakes.
Put the pan on the stove.
Turned on the gas.
Everything was ready ..
Then my baby cried.
So I picked him up ..
and completely forgot the pan was still heating.
An hour and a half later ..
I suddenly remembered. ๐ฅด
Turned the stove off, let the pan cool down a bit, and thought,
โIโve come this farโฆ Iโm still making pancakes.โ ๐
So there I was -
a baby in one arm,
a spatula in the other,
trying to flip pancakes with whatever balance I had left.
Needless to sayโฆ
the pancakes didnโt survive. ๐คฃ
But my baby did what he needed most -
he was held, comforted, and loved.
Motherhood isnโt always picture-perfect.
Sometimes itโs burnt pans, broken pancakes, and running on almost no sleep.
Itโs hard.
Some days, really hard.
But weโre surviving.
And if surviving means serving pancakes that look like theyโve been through a warโฆ
Iโll take that over putting my baby down when all he needed was his mama. ๐๐

To every mama who has ever smiled while carrying a storm inside herโฆ
This is for you.
For the mama who wakes up tired but still answers the little voices calling her name.
For the mama who gives love even when her own heart is asking to be held.
For the mama who has mastered the art of saying "๐ฐโ๐ ๐๐๐๐" because there are little eyes watching her be strong.
For the mama who does it with a partner beside her, and for the mama who walks this journey alone.
For the widowed mama who had dreams of raising her children with someone by her side, but found the courage to keep going when life changed forever.
For the single mama who carries responsibilities meant for two, yet somehow still finds a way to give her children a home filled with love.
For the mama who misses the person she used to be before motherhood changed everything.
For the mama who silently grieves the life she thought she would have.
For the mama who cries in private, then walks back into the room with a smile because her children need her.
No one sees every sacrifice.
No one hears every silent prayer.
No one knows how many times you had to choose your children over your own comfort.
But your children will remember.
They will remember the warmth of your arms.
The meals you made when you were tired.
The way you showed up, even when life felt impossible.
The love you gave, even when you had little left to give.
One day, they will understand that their mama was not just raising themโฆ
She was fighting battles they never knew existed.
So to every mama - the broken, the healing, the grieving, the rebuilding, the tired, the hopeful, and the ones simply trying their bestโฆ
Please know this:
You are not just surviving.
You are creating a story of strength your children will carry forever.
And even on the days you feel like you are falling apartโฆ
You are still the safe place your children call home.

Forgive me
if I no longer knock
on doors that never seem to open.
Forgive me
if my voice has become quieter,
if my footsteps no longer find their way to you.
It was never because I stopped caring.
It was because
there comes a point
where even hope grows tired
of waiting to be welcomed.
You may think I walked away.
The truth is,
I simply stopped chasing
what no longer turned around.
And if I seem distant now,
itโs only because
I have been using the little strength I have left
to keep myself from sinking.
Some storms
are survived in silence.
Some homes
become oceans.
And sometimes,
the person who reaches for you the least
is the one
who has been drowning the longest.

There are chapters I survived, but would never read again. โ๏ธ๐ค

Before I became their mother,
I thought strength looked like standing tall.
I was wrong.
Strength is waking up when your body asks for rest.
Strength is giving love when your own heart needs comfort.
Strength is finding patience in the middle of chaos.
I thought motherhood would change my life.
I didnโt know it would change me.
It softened my heart,
deepened my purpose,
and taught me that love can exist even in the most exhausting seasons.
I didnโt lose myself when I became a mother.
I discovered a part of me
that had been waiting to be born.

I wrote what I couldnโt say.
I released what I couldnโt carry.
And somewhere between the wordsโฆ I found myself again. โ๏ธ๐ค
