PRO3 ACTS SWIFTLY ON VIRAL VIDEO INVOLVING ALLEGED CRIMINOLOGY STUDENTS
Police authorities in Cabanatuan City immediately acted on a viral social media video showing individuals allegedly identified as criminology students who were reportedly under the influence of alcohol while onboard a vehicle.
Upon receiving information about the circulating video, the Chief of Police of Cabanatuan City Police Station promptly directed investigators to verify the identities of the individuals involved and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Initial verification confirmed that the individuals appearing in the video are reportedly criminology students. Coordination with the concerned school authorities is currently being undertaken to facilitate further verification and appropriate action.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT - NUEVA ECIJA POLICE PROVINCIAL OFFICE
The Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO) addresses the recent viral video posted on Facebook by Mr. Elvis Orita regarding the alleged involvement of drunk criminology students in an incident in Cabanatuan City.
As per investigation by Cabanatuan City Police Station, under the leadership of PLTCOL RENATO C MORALES, they initially identified the individuals featured in the video as students of a university in Cabanatuan City. While the weekend closure of the school's administration and the Office of the Dean of Criminology temporarily paused formal verification, direct coordination to finalize their identities will actively resume on Monday, June 8, 2026.
Parallel to these efforts, the Cabanatuan City Police Station has also successfully established contact with the video uploader, Mr. Elvis Orita, who has committed to personally appear at the police station on Monday to move forward with the filing of appropriate charges.
Furthermore, law enforcement immediately coordinated with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to trace the Suzuki Hatchback shown in the footage. Acting swiftly on this coordination, the LTO has already issued a Show Cause Order (SCO), enforced a 90-day preventive suspension against the driver, and officially placed the vehicle on alarm status.
The Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office maintains zero tolerance for lawlessness and behavior that compromises public safety, particularly from individuals training to enter the field of law enforcement. Our cyber patrolling teams continue to closely monitor social media channels to ensure immediate police intervention on similar matters.
We assure the public that a thorough investigation is underway, and we will update the community as further developments arise.

ZERO MAJOR INCIDENTS REPORTED AS CLASSES OPEN ACROSS CENTRAL LUZON
The opening of School Year 2026โ2027 across Central Luzon was marked by a peaceful and orderly return to classrooms, with the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) recording zero major incidents on the first day of classes.
The positive outcome came amid the deployment of thousands of police personnel across the region as part of the Philippine National Police's school opening security operations. Officers were stationed in and around schools, major roads, transportation terminals, and other areas with high public activity to help ensure the safety of students, teachers, parents, and school personnel.
Police units also worked closely with local government units, school authorities, force multipliers, and other stakeholders to facilitate traffic flow, maintain public order, and address potential concerns before they could disrupt school activities.
PRO3 Director PBGEN Jess B Mendez attributed the incident-free opening of classes to the strong collaboration among government agencies, educational institutions, community partners, and the public.
"The peaceful opening of classes across Central Luzon reflects what can be achieved when communities come together with a shared commitment to the safety and well-being of our learners. This accomplishment is the result of the collective efforts of our police personnel, local government units, school authorities, force multipliers, and the community," Mendez said.
He noted that the successful implementation of security measures aligns with the Chief PNP, PGEN Jose Melencio C Nartatez Jr's PNP focused agenda of enhancing public safety, increasing police visibility, and strengthening community partnerships.
"Our students deserve a safe environment where they can focus on learning, while parents deserve the assurance that their children are protected. This is the kind of service we continue to deliverโSerbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman," he added.
Throughout the first day of classes, police personnel maintained a visible presence in school zones and conducted intensified patrol operations to deter criminal activity and ensure the smooth flow of students and commuters.
PBGEN Mendez assured the public that PRO3 will sustain its security efforts throughout the academic year and continue working closely with partner agencies and local communities to keep schools safe.
"As we begin another school year, we remain committed to providing responsive and reliable police service. Through strong community partnerships and continued vigilance, we can ensure that our schools remain safe spaces where every learner can thrive and pursue their education with confidence," he said.
The incident-free opening of classes highlights PRO3's continuing commitment to delivering quality public service and advancing the PNP's mission of building safer, more secure, and more resilient communities across Central Luzon.
