I may not be the best poet when it comes to finding the right words to describe a person, but I do know the little things about you. I know the way you throw your head back when you laugh, the way you tuck your hair behind your ears when you feel pretty, how you always seem to notice when someone is not okay, even if they don't say anything. I know how easily you appreciate the smallest things, and how you never fail to make people feel that their efforts, no matter how little, are worth something. These may seem like small things, but somehow, they are the things that make you, you. The little moments that make you so easy to appreciate.

Sometimes, I genuinely wonder how you can remain the way you are when the world around you is not always as gentle or as beautiful as you are. You carry such a gentle heart. You are kind, understanding, and empathetic, even when you probably have your own battles that no one else sees. There is something special about a person who can still choose to be kind despite everything, and I hope you know how much that says about the kind of person you are.

I hope that whatever troubles you carry become lighter with time. I hope you are given the same kindness that you so freely give to others. And I hope you continue to be blessed -- not only so you can give more to the people around you, but so you can finally receive the love, peace, and happiness that you deserve for yourself, too.

You deserve more than a simple birthday greeting. One Facebook post could never fully express how grateful and appreciative I am to have met someone like you.
