Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched an initiative aimed at promoting Pakistan’s pink salt industry, increasing value-added production, creating jobs, and expanding exports. The plan includes the establishment of a 110-acre Pink Salt Mineral Processing Zone near Quaidabad, featuring over 200 industrial units, a Business Facilitation Centre, and a model retail outlet.

Officials said the project could attract around $150 million in investment and create nearly 10,000 employment opportunities. The initiative also focuses on improving processing, packaging, and branding of pink salt products, with efforts to promote the “Made in Pakistan” label globally.
