# سورج کے نیچے ایک قوم: پاکستان کی شدید گرمی کی لہروں کے ساتھ جدوجہد

پاکستان، متنوع مناظر اور بھرپور ثقافت کی سرزمین، اس وقت ایک شدید چیلنج کا سامنا کر رہا ہے: مسلسل گرمی کی لہر۔ یہ شدید موسمی واقعات، جن کی خصوصیت شدید درجہ حرارت کے طویل عرصے سے ہوتی ہے، تیزی سے متواتر اور شدید ہوتے جا رہے ہیں، جو ملک کی آبادی، بنیادی ڈھانچے اور معیشت کے لیے ایک اہم خطرہ ہیں۔

حالیہ گرمی کی لہر، جس نے (جون)2024کے موسم گرما میں پاکستان کو اپنی لپیٹ میں لے لیا، درجہ حرارت ریکارڈ بلندیوں تک پہنچ گیا، کچھ علاقوں میں 50 ڈگری سیلسیس سے بھی تجاوز کر گیا۔ یہ بے مثال ہیٹ ویو اپنے ساتھ بہت سے چیلنجز لے کر آئی، بشمول بجلی کی بڑے پیمانے پر بندش، پانی کی قلت، اور گرمی سے متعلقہ بیماریوں میں اضافہ۔ اس کا اثر خاص طور پر شہری علاقوں میں شدید تھا، جہاں گھنی آبادی اور ٹھنڈک کی سہولیات تک محدود رسائی نے صورتحال کو مزید بڑھا دیا۔
ان شدید گرمی کے واقعات کے نتائج بہت دور رس ہیں۔ زراعت، جو کہ پاکستان کی معیشت کے لیے ایک اہم شعبہ ہے، شدید متاثر ہے، فصلیں مرجھا رہی ہیں اور مویشی گرمی سے مر رہے ہیں۔ صحت کا شعبہ مغلوب ہے، کیونکہ ہسپتال ہیٹ اسٹروک، پانی کی کمی اور گرمی سے متعلق دیگر بیماریوں میں مبتلا مریضوں کی آمد سے نمٹنے کے لیے جدوجہد کر رہے ہیں۔ سماجی تانے بانے بھی تناؤ کا شکار ہیں، کیونکہ کمیونٹیز گرمی اور اس سے منسلک مشکلات سے نمٹنے کے چیلنجوں سے نبرد آزما ہیں۔

پاکستان میں گرمی کی لہروں کی بڑھتی ہوئی تعدد اور شدت موسمیاتی تبدیلیوں سے نمٹنے کی فوری ضرورت کی واضح یاد دہانی ہے۔ ان شدید موسمی واقعات کے لیے ملک کی کمزوری موسمیاتی موافقت کے اقدامات میں سرمایہ کاری کی اہمیت کو اجاگر کرتی ہے، جیسے کہ بنیادی ڈھانچے کو بہتر بنانا، پائیدار زراعت کے طریقوں کو فروغ دینا، اور صحت عامہ کی تیاری کو بڑھانا۔
پاکستان میں گرمی کی لہر فی الحال جاری ہے شدید گرمی 21 جون 2024 کو شروع ہوئی جس کی وجہ سے بنیادی طور پر جنوبی پاکستان میں اب تک568 پاکستانی شہری ہلاک ہوئے ہیں۔

PMDC announces NRE step 2 Exam

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) is set to conduct the National Registration Examination (NRE) Step 2 Clinical Skills Examination (CSE) on July 20-21 and July 27-28, 2024. This exam assesses the clinical skills and competencies of medical graduates, ensuring they meet the required standards for practice.

The NRE Step 2 CSE involves practical assessments, including patient interactions, clinical procedures, and decision-making processes. It is akin to an objectively structured clinical examination (OSCE), requiring candidates to pass both the theory and CSE components separately.

The CSE, will be 3 hours and 30 minutes, consisting of 20 stations across various disciplines, including Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, and ENT. A 60% pass rate is required for both the theory and CSE components.

PMDC President Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj emphasized the exam’s importance for foreign graduates with Pakistani nationality to register with PMDC. He highlighted the significant improvements in medical and dental education, professionalism, and patient care due to PMDC’s efforts. The NRE Step 2 exam ensures that only competent professionals enter the medical and dental fields, maintaining high standards of medical education and practice in Pakistan.

The transparent and fair design of the exam reduces biases and ensures equal opportunities for all candidates. It encourages continuous learning and professional development, promoting excellence in healthcare services. The rigorous assessment process upholds public trust in the medical and dental professions and maintains the quality of healthcare services.
