English, Deutsch, Italian, Español, Português. Shiatsu is a discipline born in Japan and has roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Zen Philosophy. The ideogram Shiatsu literally translated means:
shi = finger,
atsu = pressure / press. Shiatsu is a manual technique that acts by applying pressure on the recipient's body with thumbs, palms, elbows and knees. The pressures are exerted along the
lines of the energy meridians, channels that carry Ki / Qi (commonly translated as Vital Energy). In everyday life, stress, trauma (not only physical) and conditioning in general, can modify or prevent the free flow of this energy (Ki / Qi) and therefore alter our well-being. The main energy meridians are twelve and are named after the organs and viscera of the body. In our organism they trace a dense network of channels; in six of them it carries the yin energy that starts from the earth and goes towards the sky, in the other six it carries the yang energy that starts from the sky and goes towards the earth. The application of Shiatsu pressure and stretching techniques serves to relax the tension in the muscles, to loosen the joints and to realign the body structure. The pressure along the energy lines helps to harmonize the imbalances in the functioning of the internal organs. Shiatsu treatment generally gives the recipient a feeling of beneficial relaxation and at the same time a healthy stimulation that stimulates and strengthens the individual's self-healing capacity. Shiatsu acts as a prevention, helps to maintain the state of health and can be an effective support during other therapies. In this type of discipline we speak of the absence of health rather than disease and the energy is gently brought to re-inhabit a part of the body not experienced for some time. If you really think in terms of the oriental medicine approach, it must be taken into account that this approach does not only concern symptoms and treatment, but includes the spiritual, mental and emotional aspect, i.e. consider that the disease derives from the deep inner attitude of the individual, and the profound life corresponds to the spirit. The styles of Shiatsu that are practiced in the West are many and different, I practice Zen Shiatsu by Master Shizuto Masunaga. Those who practice shiatsu or those who approach to receive the benefits of this art understand that it is not just a pressure with the fingers, but something that becomes a communication between the practitioner and the recipient, in a condition of calm and silence, an exchange of energy between two people, a non-verbal dialogue through physical contact. If you wish to receive a cycle of treatments get in contact with me.
