Halifax Eats

Well… where do we even start with this one? 🙃⁣
⁣
Today we received a 𝐁𝐈𝐆 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐄𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫. The food was prepared, packed and ready to go.⁣
⁣
And then the fun started…⁣
⁣
The first driver cancelled.⁣
⁣
Then another driver cancelled.⁣
⁣
Then a third driver collected the order and somehow the order was marked as 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝… even though the customer never received it.⁣
⁣
All of this happened over roughly 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐑 after the food had been prepared.⁣
⁣
We contacted Just Eat THREE times trying to get the problem sorted.⁣
⁣
Meanwhile, there was a huge order of fresh food sitting there getting colder and colder. And at the end of the day, who gets blamed when a customer doesn't receive their food?⁣
⁣
Us.⁣
⁣
Our name.⁣
Our reputation.⁣
Our reviews.⁣
⁣
So instead of throwing away a massive order and leaving a customer disappointed, we did what we always try to do at Alaeli:⁣
⁣
We contacted the customer ourselves. 💜⁣
⁣
We explained exactly what had happened, delivered the entire order ourselves 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐆𝐄, and asked the customer to cancel the order through Just Eat so they could receive their refund.⁣
⁣
Because we would rather lose money than waste food and let someone who ordered from Alaeli down.⁣
⁣
So… 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐄𝐚𝐭. 🙃⁣
⁣
Thank you for charging over 30% of the order, plus delivery and service charges to the customer, while situations like this still leave the small business carrying the risk.⁣
⁣
And before anyone thinks this is a one-off… it isn't.⁣
⁣
This has happened to us before, and we simply can't keep putting our food, our money and most importantly our reputation in someone else's hands.⁣
⁣
So, from tomorrow, things are changing.⁣
⁣
❌ 𝐍𝐨 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐄𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐞𝐥𝐢.⁣
⁣
𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐄𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲.⁣
⁣
If you want Alaeli, the best way is simple:⁣
⁣
💜 Come and see us directly at Halifax Borough Market⁣
🩷 Or message us on Instagram or Facebook if you'd like to arrange a collection.⁣
⁣
We know this might be less convenient for some people, and honestly, we're sorry about that.⁣
⁣
But we're a small family business. Every order matters to us. Every customer matters to us.⁣
⁣
And when something goes wrong, 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥.⁣
⁣
Today, we couldn't control the drivers.⁣
⁣
But we could control what happened next.⁣
⁣
So we delivered it ourselves. 🩷⁣
⁣
𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐄𝐚𝐭: 𝟎⁣
𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐞𝐥𝐢: 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠. 💪⁣
