Cruelty-free and vegan get used as if they mean the same thing. They do not.
Cruelty-free means the product and its ingredients were never tested on animals. Vegan means nothing in the formula is animal-derived, no beeswax, no lanolin, no carmine. A product can be one without being the other. Cruelty-free but made with honey. Vegan but tested on animals somewhere in the supply chain.
