URGENT | Displaced Families from Marial Wau Need Immediate Help

Internally displaced families from Marial Wau are appealing for urgent humanitarian assistance after fleeing the ongoing conflict between Apuuk and Waau.

The families are currently sheltering at Wau Baai Centre in Tharkueng, where they lack food, shelter, clean water, and medicine. Many are sleeping on the bare ground after escaping with nothing from their homes.
An outbreak of whooping cough has also been reported among infants, increasing the risk of further illness.

The displaced families are calling on humanitarian organizations, government authorities, and people of goodwill to provide urgent support, including food, non-food items, medical care, and emergency shelter.

Rescue Agriculture Cooperative Society Steps Up Efforts to Boost Food Security in WBGS.

The Rescue Agriculture Cooperative Society (RACS), a community-based organization in Western Bahr el Ghazal State, is leading efforts to improve livelihoods, promote food security, and empower farmers through sustainable agriculture.

As part of this mission, the cooperative has begun planting short-variety groundnuts and Bambara groundnuts, an initiative aimed at increasing food production, strengthening local farming, and improving household incomes.

Every seed planted today is an investment in a better tomorrow. By supporting sustainable agriculture, RACS is not only growing crops but also creating hope, fighting hunger, and building stronger communities across the state.

The initiative also serves as a call on the government, development partners, investors, and citizens to invest in agriculture and work together to make Wau the breadbasket of South Sudan, ensuring a future where no family goes hungry.

Before smartphones, TikTok, and today’s fast internet services became common, Waptrick and Ketomob were among the most popular websites used by many mobile phone users in Wau and different parts of South Sudan.

For many young people, these platforms were the easiest way to download music, videos, games, wallpapers, themes, and ringtones using simple phones and limited internet connections.
