Bantu Vegan
Farm-grown, small-batch, skincare & pantry from Tanzanian soil š¹šæ. Micro-factory + farm-stays in build. Karibu. Karibu, rafiki. New here? Say hi.
Bantu Vegan started as āX ways to use Yāāteaching veggies the way our grandmas did. Today weāre building it into honest goods: small-batch skincare and pantry staples from Tanzanian soil, built for traceability from shamba ā shelf as we grow. Weāre mid-build: 50 acres across mainland Tanzania & Zanzibar (part under cultivation), a micro-factory coming online in Dar, and future farm-stays to reconnect people to soil, craft, and care. Here youāll find Ingredient Alchemy (heritage + gentle context), FarmāFactory notes (packaging/QA/compliance as they take shape), Routine Builders (how to use/how much), and Ripple Stories from the people behind each harvest. Tell us which proof earns your trust firstāprice honesty, a sourcing map, or an after-care cardāand weāll prioritise it. Karibu kwenye kijiji.
Orange and eucalyptus together smell like they were built specifically to wake someone up. š
Thereās a reason that exact combination shows up in aromatherapy blends and cold-and-flu rubs everywhere, citrus that brightens fast, eucalyptus right behind it with a cool, almost minty finish that clears your head before your eyes are even fully open.
Orange peel handles gentle exfoliating while youāre still half asleep in the shower, vitamin C quietly works on sun damage and hyperpigmentation in the background, the kind of thing you donāt notice happening but notice the results of later.
Itās the bar for a bright start ā fresh, energising, and especially good for mornings when you need a little help getting yourself into the day.

This is the bar for the days when the heat was heavy, the work was hard and dusty, and youāve brought half the outdoors home with you. š¾
Bentonite and kaolin clays give this bar its deep, earthy cleanse, with a gentle tightening sensation as you lather. They help lift away the oil, sweat and dust that build up over a long day, while coconut oil and coconut milk keep the cleanse from feeling too harsh. After rinsing, skin feels fresh, clean and comfortable.
Clay has long been part of African beauty rituals, used in bathing, cleansing and body care for generations. Different regions have their own clays, traditions and ways of working with the earth ā sometimes as masks, sometimes mixed into pastes, sometimes simply worked into a daily ritual of caring for the body.
We wanted to bring a little of that earth-to-skin tradition into a bar you can use every day. The result is earthy and mineral in scent, with a matte grey-green colour to match. A proper reset after a long, hot day outside.

You know how your hands turn unmistakably orange when you grate or chop fresh turmeric? š Or how that Tupperware youāve been using for years slowly takes on the same orange tint, no matter how many times you wash it?
Thereās probably some version of it in countless kitchens across Tanzania. Manjano is one of those ingredients you recognise instantly ā that unmistakable golden-orange colour, the little dented tin thatās permanently stained from years of use, the powder that finds its way into stews, rice and everything in between.
Our bar keeps the colour and character of turmeric without leaving that orange behind on your skin. It pairs turmeric with fenugreek, bringing that familiar kitchen staple into the bathroom. Turmeric is loved for its brightening and clarifying qualities, while fenugreek has traditionally been used to soothe and care for the skin.
The same familiar root that has been going into stews for generations, just moved from the cooking pot to the bathroom shelf. A familiar kind of care, in a different form.

This bar looks like it should smell like smoke but it doesnāt. š„
Charcoal reads as heavy the second you see it, all that black, almost intimidating next to everything lighter around it. What it actually does once itās wet is pull: oil, grime, whateverās sitting in your pores thatās overstayed its welcome.
Avocado oil and red palm butter go in right after to stop that pull from turning into a strip, so skin doesnāt come out feeling raw, just properly clean. Ylang ylang and cinnamon soften the whole thing on the way out, a warmth underneath all that darkness that you donāt expect until itās already there.
The boldest-looking soap bar in the lineup, and one of the gentlest once itās actually on skin.

Shea butter is solid at room temperature, firm enough to hold its shape, until it meets warm skin and begins to melt. š„„
Thatās the whole personality of this soap bar: rich, soft and comforting.
Shea butter has been part of everyday skin and hair care across parts of Africa for generations, valued for the way it leaves skin feeling nourished and supple. Here, rice milk and coconut milk join it in the batter, bringing their own creamy richness to the bar.
It reminds us a little of the staples that make up a good kitchen: warm, comforting, familiar, and made from ingredients that donāt need much explaining. The kind of food you grow up knowing, the kind that doesnāt need to be dressed up to be good. This bar has that same feeling.
After rinsing, thereās none of that tight, squeaky-clean feeling some soaps leave behind. Just skin that feels soft, comfortable and cared for.
No strong scent trying to prove a point. No single ingredient showing off over the others. Just a beautifully rich bar, and probably the one weād hand you first if you only ever tried one from the collection.

Cloves smell like they mean business the second the wrapper comes off: sharp, warm, a little smoky. š°
For generations, cloves have been part of Zanzibarās landscape, kitchens and trade. Thereās something nostalgic about the way things are still grown here ā practiced hands gathering what the land has returned, knowledge passed down through generations, and the simple rhythm of doing things the way theyāve always been done. Itās the kind of familiarity you find in the scent of a kitchen that has been making the same things for years.
Cloves carry some of that feeling with them. Deep, warm and unmistakable, their scent fills a room before youāve even found where itās coming from. This soap bar doesnāt try to soften that. Coconut milk and aloe vera sit underneath to keep it gentle on skin, while clove brings the naturally soothing, cleansing qualities it has been valued for in home remedies for generations.
The first thing you notice is still that rich clove aroma. But underneath it is a plant with a much longer story ā one that has been part of how people have cared for themselves, cooked, gathered and lived here for generations.

Rub a moringa leaf between your fingers and it smells like the inside of a garden, grassy, a little bitter, entirely alive. šæ
Moringa could grow almost everywhere in Tanzania, roadsides, behind houses, wherever thereās enough sun really, which is most places. Weāve used it in food and home remedies for longer than anyoneās bothered to write down, long before āsuperfoodā became a word anyone needed.
This āMoringa Soapā bar celebrates this vital plant: leaves are picked while theyāre still bright, worked into the batter before theyāve had time to wilt, so what ends up in your hands smells and feels closer to the actual leaf than to a bottle.
Vitamin A, C, and E do the quiet work underneath for fewer breakouts, softer fine lines, a tone that evens out instead of just getting covered up. Wash with this bar and a little bit of the garden follows you out of the bathroom.
