This morning, I’m choosing vulnerability.

I’ve been quieter on social media lately. From the outside, our business and lives may look like we have it all together, but you never really know what someone is carrying behind the scenes.

This is my sister.

She lived on the streets for more than 11 years, and our family hadn’t seen her in six. Today, she is in respite rehab choosing sobriety.

That little duffel bag holds most of what she has right now. But what it can’t hold is her faith, her family, her hope, and another chance.

I’m not sharing this for sympathy or pity. I’m sharing because someone needs hope today.

Someone needs to know their current circumstances don’t have to be the end of their story. Someone loving a person through addiction needs hope. And someone struggling themselves needs to hear this:

You are still worth a second chance.

This is why the mission behind Enchanting Soap Collections is so personal. We didn’t choose to employ women rebuilding their lives because it sounded good on an About Us page. We have lived it. We are living it.

This month, I celebrated seven years free from methamphetamine. Now, I get to celebrate my sister as she begins her own journey toward sobriety—and every woman who has walked through our doors needing someone to see beyond her past.

I don’t know what my sister’s story will look like from here. None of us does.

But today, she chose another day.

And today, we celebrate that.

Our Pear Cactus Fruit Soap Bar is one with plenty of excellent nutritional properties thanks to the prickly pear cactus fruit.🤍

The fruit itself contains Vitamin C, D, K as well as Omega 6, and 9. We also use shea butter, organic cocoa oil, and organic cocoa milk to leave your skin soft and hydrated.

Roberta and her husband wild harvest the prickly pear cactus fruit, burn the needles off, clean them, slice them, and then dehydrate them. After they dry, Roberta grinds the cactus fruit not once or twice, but three times so it leaves seeds and a fine powder. The seeds make an excellent exfoliant for your skin. Roberta does all of this before putting them in her batches of Pear Cactus Fruit Soap Bars. 🤍🌵

Why Does Handmade Soap Need to Cure❓

Freshly made soap isn’t ready to use right after cutting, they instead must spend around 4-6 weeks curing. During these weeks, excess water evaporates, to then create a harder, longer lasting bar with a rich and creamier lathered feel. It’s the final step that transforms fresh soap into a beautiful, high-quality bar. Curing also allows the bar to become more gentler on the skin as the bar fully matures.

We know waiting isn’t easy - but great soap can’t be rushed. Every bar is handcrafted with patience to ensure you get taken care.
