Japan is showing the world a fresh way to bring forests back to life — and it's happening from the sky! Engineers in Kyoto built smart drones that fly over damaged land and gently fire biodegradable seed pods straight into the soil. Each pod is packed with nutrients and helpful fungi to give the seeds the best possible start.

In trials near Kumamoto, the results were impressive: drones covered a football-field-sized area in under an hour, and more than 80% of the seeds sprouted successfully. That's a huge leap compared to traditional hand-planting methods, which take far longer to cover the same ground.
