Body Design by Alissa
I help people feel strong, sexy, and pain-free, with Pilates-based workouts that realign posture, release tension and rebuild strength.
Alissa’s passion for exercise and fitness began at the age of 3 when she began her first dance class. She still enjoys all forms of dancing today and loves integrating it into her workout routines. After completing a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, Alissa took a year to complete a certification in massage therapy. Alissa then received her master’s degree and specialized in biomechanics and knee osteoarthritis. While attending her master’s program, she had the unique opportunity of helping run a stage II cardiac rehabilitation program. Alissa continued her education at the University of Michigan for two more years in pursuit of a PhD in biomechanics and hopes one day to return and complete the program. Currently, Alissa is enjoying working as a personal trainer, fitness instructor and owner of Body Design by Alissa, LLC. Alissa is committed to the highest quality of training in a fun and inviting atmosphere. Integrating dance, personal training, pilates and massage creates a unique approach to fitness. She is constantly reassessing her training techniques, and completing new exercise and pilates certification programs to stay up-to-date with the latest fitness research and ideas. Alissa currently holds the following certifications:
STOTT Pilates
ACSM Health Fitness Instructor

Your kids don’t learn strength from what you say—they learn it when they see you move with confidence and power.
Follow me and let’s make movement your legacy. 💛
Pain doesn’t mean your body is broken—it means it needs a different approach. 🧠✨
Follow me to rebuild strength that actually lasts. 💪
It’s not about doing less. It’s about finally doing what works.
Follow me to break the pain cycle and move forward with confidence.
If workouts haven’t worked, it’s not because you failed—it’s because your body needs a smarter approach.
This is how I help women rebuild strength and trust in their body—without pushing through pain.
You’re not stiff in the morning because you’re getting older ❌ Try this once before accepting that as normal ✨
If you only do one movement today, make it this one. 👀
Two minutes. No equipment. Big difference. ✨
Stretching feels good.
But it doesn’t last. Here’s why.
Before you push harder, test this. If your foundation isn’t there, intensity just reinforces pain patterns.
If stretching your back hasn’t worked, it’s not because you’re doing it wrong. It’s because the problem isn’t where you think it is.
Your workouts are making your pain worse, and your body has been trying to tell you. This is for you if you want the flare-ups to finally stop. 💛✨
