Some of the things that remind me why I became a hairstylist…

➡️ Watching confidence grow appointment after appointment. Sometimes the biggest transformations aren’t the color or the haircut. But watching somebody get up with a little more confidence, standing a little taller, and a wider smile than when they came in.

➡️ The clients. Overtime clients become so much more than just my schedule. They become people that I genuinely look forward to seeing and catching up with.

➡️ The conversations that have nothing to do with hair. So many appointments filled with milestones, updates, life stories. Those stories are just as meaningful as the service itself.

➡️ The smile after the mirror turns around. There’s something so special about the first look after I finished a style.

➡️ The clients who trust me without hesitation. When you tell me that you trust me, that is the biggest compliment that you could give. Knowing that you believe in me is something I will never take for granted.

➡️ The little moments that you don’t notice. The hug, the happy tears, “ I can’t stop looking at my hair”, this is why I choose my career every day.

➡️ Every person that sits in my chair. Thank you for trusting me with your hair, your stories, and your confidence. You are the reason that I get to do what I love every single day.

Beautiful body wave with loose, natural looking curls for Marie today! We did a zigzag wrapping & sectioning technique, an exothermic wave and gave some bouncy symmetry to her very relaxed natural wave. She has some curl naturally but nothing that she could just scrunch and go or diffuse dry where it looked purposeful, voluminous and cohesive.

The upkeep for her hair type is up to her. She won’t have any noticeable hard lines of demarcation when this wave starts to grow out. It will soften over time and she can do another wave if and when she’d like to. She’ll start to see less lift at her scalp after about 3-4 months but with styling and curl products she’ll be able to wear it well for awhile.

She went home with a complementary body wave take home kit with do’s and don’ts, shampoo, conditioner, a custom made wide tooth comb. I always want my clients set up for success when they’re at home with making personalized recommendations and instructions.

I love being at my new salon home @ The 806 HALO Beauty Salon in suite 6…it’s been such a special new space to see & serve my clients! The hubbs and I went out after I finished my clients for the week with an UNO & sips date enjoying some pumpkin spice bevs🥰🥰🥰

I’m looking forward to getting back into body waving. It’s a service that’s great for adding volume, a more natural looking wave pattern, balancing out natural waves that aren’t as symmetrical as you’d like. A lower maintenance type of service too.

The first pic is my work, the collage pic shows some ideas of the type of curl/wave that I’d consider what a body wave would look like.

Is it a perm??? Yes! But it’s wrapped in a way that’s designed to be looser and a bit more weighted down at the crown instead of tigher with lots of lift at the crown. And depending on your length, thickness, layering/lack of layering body waves can help with some lift in the crown too!

Kelly’s color melt, cut and smooth blowout. I LOVE getting to do color melts! I love how blendy and seamless they look when it’s all done. The process to do the melt, from hand painting & hand blending the different zones together is really fun too! Kelly gets an all over blonding balayage 1-2x a year and then the color melt and haircut maintenance is every 6-8 weeks.
