When it comes to permanent brows, choosing an artist is about more than just finding someone whose work looks good on Instagram. Your brows are a long-term investment in your face, so do your research!
Here are a few things to look for:

Choose an artist who is properly trained, educated, and certified in the services they provide. Permanent makeup requires knowledge of technique, skin, color theory, sanitation, and proper procedures.
🤎 AN EYE FOR DETAIL
A great brow artist should understand that every face is different. Your brows should complement your natural facial features—not simply replicate a brow style seen on someone else.
🤎 A LISTENING EAR
Your artist should take the time to listen to what YOU want, understand your concerns, and communicate honestly about what will work best for your skin, lifestyle, and desired results.
🤎 PROFESSIONALISM
Look for an artist who values professionalism, cleanliness, communication, client education, and your overall experience from consultation to aftercare.
🤎 LOOK AT HEALED RESULTS!
This is one of the BIGGEST things I recommend when considering permanent brows such as Ombré or Microshading. Fresh brows can look beautiful immediately after a procedure—but healed results tell the real story. Ask to see healed work, not just fresh procedures.
🤎 EXPERIENCE WITH DIFFERENT SKIN TYPES & TEXTURES
No two clients are exactly alike. An experienced artist should have knowledge and experience working with a variety of skin types, tones, textures, and brow conditions.

My background is rooted in sales, finance, customer service, HR, and public speaking. From my very first job as a cashier at Harvey’s, I learned the importance of making people feel valued, building trust, and serving others well.
In 2007, while working at Belk, I transitioned into Cosmetics—and that’s where my love for makeup and brows was born. 💄✨
Over the years, I moved through banking, corporate sales, insurance, and higher education HR while building Beauty Inked along the way. Every chapter taught me something. Every position sharpened a skill. Every room prepared me for the next one.
I used to think these were just different jobs and different seasons of my life.
Now I realize they were pieces of the same puzzle.
God gave me the gift of communication early. He placed me in rooms that developed my confidence, professionalism, leadership, and ability to connect with people—even when I didn’t recognize what He was preparing me for.
Everything I’ve experienced has contributed to the woman and professional I am today.
