Wishing a very happy Trans Day of Visibility to all the beautiful trans people out there.
I constantly think about how much dysphoria would be relieved if being trans were normalized. But it isn’t.
It’s heartbreaking to think about how many people feel like they can’t be themselves,
and how many never even got the chance to.
It’s never too late to come out. But it makes complete sense why many people feel it’s safer not to.
And to those who have, the level of “bravery” you’re expected to carry isn’t fair.
It’s not fair that education about trans people so often falls on individuals, instead of being something people are already taught. That gap fuels so much transphobia, including the internalized kind that people have to work through just to feel at home in their own bodies.
Being trans is beautiful. 🎀🪽🦋
Being educated about trans people saves lives.
