One of the biggest lessons I learned early in business was that not every team member is meant to stay forever.
As a leader, your job is to create an environment where people feel supported while they’re with you and comfortable being honest when their season has come to an end.
It’s easy to become attached or worry when/if all of their clients follow them when they leave, but you can’t lead your business from that fear. It’s important to let clients follow the person they’ve built the relationship with. It’s fair to the client and the esthetician, which means it has to work out for you. Believing the alternative would mean that it isn’t what’s best for the client or the person leaving, when it’s almost always better for everyone.
Sometimes growth also means learning how to let go. What’s one business lesson you had to learn the hard way?
