Another retail partnership for MelanBrand Skin! 🙌🏾

We packed and shipped our opening wholesale order to The Beauty Junction, a new luxury, Black-owned beauty supply store in Yanceyville, NC, founded by Daneé Fields.

The Beauty Junction is bringing an elevated beauty-shopping experience to its community with a focus on access, education and product discovery, and we’re excited for MelanBrand Skin to be part of it!

Shoptalk Fall Recap - Part TWO ✨

One thing about me: I’m going to put myself in position.

Being invited to have MelanBrand Skin featured in the Premium Brand Shoptalk Fall Swag Store was an opportunity in itself. Our brand and products were showcased to 3,500+ attendees and global retail leaders, putting MelanBrand Skin in rooms and in front of people we may not have otherwise reached.

But being in the room is only part of it. What are you going to do once you get there?

And y’all already know…I’ve never met a camera I was afraid of. 😂🎥

So when I saw an interview happening, I didn’t wait for someone to come find me. I walked up, introduced myself, and proactively asked, “Can I be interviewed?”

The answer was YES.

That’s entrepreneurship. Sometimes the opportunity isn’t formally extended to you. Sometimes you have to recognize the moment, open your mouth, and ask.

And on the final day, Shoptalk held a raffle giveaway featuring the products that had been showcased in the Swag Store. Another moment for MelanBrand Skin to get into someone’s hands and potentially create a new customer, advocate, connection, or opportunity.

Every part of this experience reminded me of something I’ve learned throughout this journey:

Exposure matters. Visibility matters. Relationships matter. But positioning yourself matters, too.

I’m not waiting around hoping somebody notices what we’re building.

I’m putting MelanBrand Skin in position to be seen.

And trust me…we’re just getting started.

Shoptalk Fall 2026 was one for the books or boots 👢✨

A few days in Nashville filled with conversations, connections, learning, relationship-building, and plenty of walking. 😂

I came into Shoptalk representing MelanBrand Skin with a very clear goal: make meaningful connections that can help us continue growing across retail, e-commerce, marketing, operations, and brand visibility. And I definitely left with work to do.

Over the course of the week, I:

✨ Participated in Shoptalk’s Meetup program and connected with brands, retailers, technology companies, agencies, and other industry leaders.

✨ Connected with TikTok Shop and started the conversation around bringing MelanBrand Skin onto the platform.

✨ Met with companies to explore everything from customer experience and AI-powered operations to advertising, website optimization, competitive intelligence, and growth.

✨ Attended Shopify Plus’ “Hats Off to the Best in Ecom” event at Rustler Hat Co. 🤠

✨ Networked at After Hour events.

✨ Had a little fun at a Speakeasy Poker Night. ♠️

✨ Took part in Shoptalk’s Nashville Shopwalk, getting an up-close look at how brands are creating memorable in-store experiences, and connecting with members of the Shoptalk team along the way.

✨ Sat in on conversations and programming focused on what’s happening next across retail, commerce, technology, customer experience, and brand growth.

✨ And somehow even came home a winner after snagging an Olive & Piper Luxe Collection Jewelry Package! 🎉

But the biggest takeaway?

There is something powerful about getting out of your day-to-day business bubble and putting yourself in rooms with people who are building, innovating, solving problems, and thinking about what commerce looks like next.

I didn’t go to Shoptalk just to collect business cards. I went to build relationships and find opportunities that make sense for where MelanBrand Skin is headed.

Nashville, you were good to me. 🤎 But you are my second home 😉

What part of launching a product-based startup did I ever think would be easy?! 😩😂

This was yesterday: PRODUCTION DAY.

From 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, my team and I WORKED. And worked HARD.

We bottled.
We labeled.
We packed.
We produced.

And yes… it literally took THAT long.

People often see the finished product sitting beautifully on the shelf, the website, the announcements and the wins. But THIS is part of entrepreneurship, too.

The long production days.
The behind-the-scenes work.
The hours it takes to get every product ready to go.

Some days are simply rest days because when work calls your name… it’s WORK. 😂

Building MelanBrand Skin from the ground up continues to remind me that launching a product-based company is not for the weak. But seeing what we’re building makes every long day worth it.

Yesterday: 8 hours of production.
Today: REST. 😂
