Sometimes God sends you a reminder right when you need it. ❤️

Yesterday, we received this message, and I honestly had to sit with it for a little while.

A dear friend of ours recently took a jar of our Whipped Tallow Muscle & Joint Relief to her mom, Dora. After a mastectomy 14 years ago, Dora has lived with ongoing burning nerve pain and has tried many different creams and ointments over the years without finding much relief.

She has only been using our Muscle & Joint Relief for about a week when she sent us this message.

Reading her words left us almost dumbfounded.

There are times in this little business when Josh and I question ourselves. Are we doing what we’re supposed to be doing? Are these products truly helping people? Are we following where God is leading us?

One of the prayers we continually pray over Guell Family Funny Farm is that everything we do would be pleasing to God and a blessing to His people.

And then a message like this comes.

We don’t take credit for what Dora has experienced. We make these products with simple ingredients, a whole lot of care, and prayer—and we give God the glory for every person who is blessed through them.

To think that something made right here on our little farm could make even a small difference in someone’s life after she has struggled for so many years is incredibly humbling.

This is why we do what we do.

Dora, thank you for taking the time to send this message. You blessed us far more than you probably realize. And to our sweet friend who loved her mama enough to say, “Here, try this”—thank you for sharing our little farm with her. ❤️

God is good. And today we’re just feeling incredibly grateful.

Came home from our Carlsbad milk deliveries today with a whole counter full of returned jars. That makes this milk lady very happy! 😂🙌

Today was a GOOD milk sale day and apparently a good jar return day too! Even after a little farm-life mishap involving my son accidentally tripping and dropping a gallon and a half of milk 😳💥🥛 and cutting up his arm (see pic in comments) in the process (because apparently we needed a little extra excitement today 🤦‍♀️😂), I STILL had enough milk to fulfill all of today’s orders!

I’m so thankful for our customers who keep coming back, return their jars, and continue supporting our little family farm. Every gallon of milk and every returned jar keeps this whole crazy operation going. ❤️🐐

We received this review today, and I just had to share it.

Holston works on a powerline crew here in southeastern New Mexico. These are hardworking men who spend their days outside in the elements—often working in our 100°+ heat and New Mexico sun.

Holston originally bought a jar of our Mineral Sun Guard just to try it. When we saw him last night, he was ready for another jar and was telling us how much he loves it. Then he told us that other guys on his crew are using it too. 😂❤️

And I LOVE that.

I think sometimes when we hear “skincare,” we automatically think women. But good skincare isn’t just for women. These guys aren’t buying something because it has a pretty label or because it’s the latest skincare trend. 😂 They’re working outside every day, they tried a product, liked how it felt and worked for them, and came back for more.

That’s a pretty awesome compliment.

But there’s another part of this that I want to share…

Josh and I are constantly amazed by the stories people tell us about our products.

Someone will tell us how much they love something or how well a product has worked for them, and sometimes we look at each other almost in disbelief like, “Really?! Ours did that for you?!” 🥹😂

Because behind the scenes, we’re just a family on a little Funny Farm making these products by hand. We’re constantly learning, creating, tweaking recipes, trying new ideas and praying over where this little business is going.

And when we hear stories like this, we give the glory right back to God. ❤️🙏🏼

We truly believe He has had His hand in this business from the beginning—giving us ideas, opening doors, putting people in our path and helping us grow something we never could have imagined when we started.

So when you take the time to tell us that you love something we made, please know we don’t take it for granted.

One of the greatest blessings of farm life is watching our kids grow through the work they put into it. ❤️

This week has been filled with early mornings, long days, and unforgettable memories. Watching Izabella and Ezekiel’s hard work pay off has been such a joy.

At the Awards Ceremony, Ezekiel was honored with a Reserve Champion Rabbit belt buckle and Novice Market Rabbit Showmanship. He was beyond excited to add two more buckles to his collection!

We also received some incredible news…

Not only will Ezekiel’s Reserve Champion Rabbit be selling in tonight’s auction, but his pig also earned a sale slot! And to top it off, Izabella’s lamb and goat will be in the auction as well.

To have all four of their market projects qualify for the sale is an incredible blessing. More than anything, we’re thankful for the lessons these projects have taught our kids—hard work, responsibility, perseverance, and confidence.

One of the greatest gifts of farm life is watching your children grow through the challenges it brings. ❤️🐑

This year, both Izabella and Ezekiel took on another new adventure by adding lambs to their list of fair projects. Like anything new, there was a lot to learn.

Feeding, walking, setting them up correctly, working leg hair, and learning how to present them in the ring was no small task. It took patience, consistency, and many hours of hard work.

When show day arrived, they both stepped into the ring and gave it everything they had. As parents, that’s all we can ask for. Watching your children choose hard things, persevere through challenges, and refuse to give up is one of the greatest rewards.

Izabella earned 8th place, and Ezekiel earned 6th place. While it’s not what we were hoping for, we’re proud of the character they continue to build through experiences like these.

Every new project teaches lessons that can’t be learned in a classroom—responsibility, perseverance, humility, and the confidence that comes from doing something you’ve never done before. Those are the values that shape our family and inspire everything we do here at Guell Family Funny Farm.

We’re walking away with more knowledge, more experience, and two kids who can’t wait to do it all again next year. I’d call that a successful project.

Today is the Awards Ceremony, where many 4-H and FFA youth will be recognized for their months of hard work, dedication, and showmanship. We’re excited to celebrate all of these incredible young people and can’t wait to see if our own kiddos come home with any special awards.

Sometimes the biggest victories don’t come with a banner—they come from having the courage to say yes.

Showing a pig this year wasn’t originally in our plans. But when the opportunity presented itself, Ezekiel said yes to taking on a project our family had never done before.

Over the past several months, he faithfully fed, bathed, walked, and cared for Miss Piggy. There were plenty of lessons along the way, and we learned right alongside him.

When it was finally time to step into the show ring yesterday, I wasn’t most proud of where he placed. I was proud of how he walked into that ring.

He didn’t walk in motivated by fear or wondering if he was good enough. He walked in with confidence, determined to give it his very best. That’s a win that no ribbon can ever measure.

Ezekiel placed 5th, and while it wasn’t the outcome we were hoping for, we couldn’t be more proud of him. He stepped outside his comfort zone, embraced a new challenge, and finished what he started. That’s the kind of character we’re trying to build—not just in the show ring, but in everyday life.

This photo perfectly captures the determination and focus of that moment, and I’m incredibly grateful our wonderful friend, Kristy Maley, was there to preserve it. We may not have left with the placing we hoped for, but we walked away with something even more valuable—a wealth of knowledge, new experiences, and memories we’ll carry with us for years to come.

Farm life has a way of teaching lessons that go far beyond caring for animals. It teaches responsibility, perseverance, humility, and the courage to keep showing up, even when the outcome isn’t guaranteed. Those are the same values that shape our family and inspire everything we create here at Guell Family Funny Farm.
