One of the biggest mistakes that’ll ruin your unit faster than anything is using hot water.

I know it feels like you’re getting all the product buildup out, but here’s the tea:

1. Hot water strips the hair of the oils it needs to stay soft. Since the hair isn't growing from your head, it can't "regrow" that shine. You’ll end up with a dry, frizzy mess that looks "crunchy."

2. Too much heat can actually warp the cap underneath, making it lose its shape. Nobody wants a wig that doesn't lay flat!
