Growing Up 📺80’s…

The new He-Man & The Master’s of the Universe movie is officially released tomorrow, and when I heard the news a month ago, my heart took a leap. Here’s why:

When my parents divorced in ‘85/‘86 and my world cracked open, I found refuge in Eternia. He-Man wasn’t just a cartoon; he was courage when I had none. When he raised that sword and said, “I have the power,” something in me believed I had it too.

📺: ThunderCats, Inspector Gadget, Jem, Rainbow Brite, P***y Brewster, DuckTales, Transformers, G.I. Joe…

They weren’t shows; they were survival guides wrapped in neon.

Tomorrow, the new Masters of the Universe movie drops, and I’m not watching as a business owner; I’m watching as Corey, the ‘80s kid who found his strength in a hero.

Celestial Hands is my Castle Grayskull now, a sanctuary built from the courage that started with a cartoon and an 8-year-old boy who needed power.

And I collect the action figures, not to stay in the past, but to honor the kid who survived it.
