At first… I disagreed with Emma Grede

Because it felt like she was saying
“if you’re not in the office, you won’t move up”

And for a lot of women… that doesn’t feel fair

But then I had to sit with it…
and really think about my own experience

I’ve worked in the office
and I’ve worked remotely

And I’ve been promoted in both

So it wasn’t where I was working…
it was how visible I was

Because you can go into the office every day…
and still be invisible

Close your door
Do your work
Eat lunch alone
Leave

And nobody really knows you

And the more I thought about it…
this isn’t just about work

You can be incredibly talented
and still be overlooked

Not because you’re not capable…
but because you’re not positioned to be seen

And that doesn’t just affect promotions…
it affects income

It affects opportunities
It affects who even knows you exist

So no… I don’t think working from home is the problem

But invisibility?
That will cost you every time

Which part hit you the most?
Visibility… or feeling overlooked?

I was riding in my car the other day listening to and heard a DJ say he created a course to teach anyone how to DJ from scratch. 🎧

And I couldn’t help but smile, because this is exactly what I teach.

🎬October Edition 🎬

October felt like a beautiful blend of gratitude, growth, and good times.

From celebrating my daughter’s 8th grade cheer night 💚 to cheering on my son on the football field, this month reminded me how sacred everyday moments can be when you slow down and live by design, not default.

There were homecomings and heart moments 🫶🏽 returning to my HBCU, celebrating 12 years of marriage (my husband is my soulmate 🥹), and honoring my dad’s birthday (more to come).

We even took a quick getaway to Tulum: ATV rides, cenotes, sunshine, and stillness was the perfect mix of adventure and ease.

Back home, I voted early 🗳️, celebrated the season with trick-or-treating 🎃, and checked a long-time goal off my vision board… my dream fridge! ✨

And one of my favorite little surprises? Walking through and spotting a charcuterie board of Georgia that had my small hometown etched right on it 😆.

Talk about a sweet reminder of how far I’ve come and how connected I still am to my roots.

Oh, and let’s not forget the No Limit vs. Cash Money VERZUZ 😮‍💨! Pure nostalgia! Took me right back to my childhood.

Chef’s kiss to the culture, and now I’m officially counting down the days until my trip to New Orleans. 💛💜💚

October reminded me that elevation isn’t always loud… sometimes it’s found in a quiet mid day with my planner and Greek salad, or in the joy of watching my people win.

Here’s to the moments that make life feel elevated, harmonious, and full. 🤎
