Hello October! This month holds so much weight for me and so many others. Countless times I never said anything. I kept quite because on the outside it looked like I had the perfect life with minor kinks, but I was dying on the inside. I didn't understand what Domestic Violence was, I never felt I was a victim. I always felt it was my fault and I could be a better wife, but then I woke up. I realized something wasn't right. How could this man love me, make me his wife but also hate me all at the same time!! From the physical to mental abuse, I wore the scares. Some visible and others still haunt my mind. But one day I CHOSE ME and it was one of hardest decisions of my life. I made it to the other side but it's so many who don't. I thank God everyday for my village. For my strength and for keeping me on those dark nights I wanted to go back. Its so easy to say what you would and wouldn't take, but please don't judge. Be a comforter. Be a listening ear and when that person is ready be in stand by. My heart aches for all families of the women who never made it out. They will never be forgotten💜💜💜💜 Say their names ALOUD AND LET THIER LEGACIES LIVE ON💜💜💜💜
