We’re so excited to have for our Round Rock Heart + Sol Tour stop on May 14th as our event photographer. ❤️
Valerie is a photographer and creative director with a background in storytelling and brand strategy. With years of experience leading content creation across industries, her work focuses on capturing moments with intention - blending authenticity, composition, and narrative. In addition to her creative work, Valerie currently serves as COO of New Edge, a growing Austin-based construction company, where she oversees brand, marketing, and operations. Whether behind the camera or building a brand, her approach is rooted in creating meaningful, lasting impressions. She is passionate about collaborating with businesses and individuals to bring their vision to life through thoughtful, impactful imagery.
What makes this even more special is that Valerie has been capturing my journey for nearly 8 years. From our salon days in Dallas to the evolution of Commune + Bloom and now Heart + Sol, she’s been there through so many pivots of the brand helping bring the vision to life through her lens.
Having her now document this chapter in Austin feels incredibly full circle.
You do not want to miss this Round Rock stop. The energy, the community, the culture, the vendors, the raffles, and the moments being captured are going to be so special.

Meet the eye behind the moments you’ll be feeling from the
Our official videographer, Nissy
Dennise Martinez (Nissy) is the creative force behind NTC Vizuals, a photography and videography brand based in Austin, TX. With an eye for authentic moments and a passion for visual storytelling, she specializes in capturing events, weddings, fitness experiences, portraits, and brand content that feels alive, intentional, and made to be remembered. Her work is driven by one belief: every moment deserves to be seen
That’s exactly why I wanted her a part of this tour
If you’ve been to a Commune + Bloom experience, you already know there are so many moments happening at once. The movement, the breath, the connection, the energy in the room. Having someone who can actually capture that in a way you can feel later means everything, especially with how personal this fundraiser is for Sol’s healing journey
She offers event and wedding coverage, brand and product photography, portrait and headshot sessions, and social media content creation including highlight reels and short form video
Based in Austin and available to travel
You can connect with her at .vizuals or [email protected]
Fun fact, she loves being in front of the camera too, but her real magic is behind the lens, in the edit, and in the final vision. Give her a coffee and her camera and she’s locked in.
So grateful to have you capturing this with us, Nissy

I can always tell when I’ve left my body. I start overthinking, moving fast, and reacting instead of actually choosing how I want to show up. And if I don’t catch it, I’ll stay in that energy all day.
So these are the questions I come back to. Not to sound positive or force a better thought, but to actually bring myself back.
Because I’ve noticed I can say all the “right” things in my head, but if my body still feels tight or off, nothing really shifts. It’s not just what you’re thinking, it’s what you’re feeling and what you’re carrying in your body.
The version of you you’re becoming moves differently, feels different, and has a different pace.
So when I feel myself starting to spiral, I pause, I breathe, and I come back to me.
Save this for when you need it. And if you want to practice this in real time, that’s what we do inside the Breathe Up! Stay tuned for our next one

Latinas in Wellness — The Series | Volume 9
This one is personal.
Functional medicine changed how I see healing… and it changed my son’s life.
It wasn’t until we started learning about root causes, the nervous system, and looking at the body as a whole… that things began to shift.
That’s why featuring Dr. Gabriela Pichardo 🇩🇴 feels so aligned.
She’s not just treating symptoms.
She’s asking deeper questions.
She’s helping people understand why their body is out of balance… and guiding them back to true, sustainable health.
From chronic fatigue and hormone imbalances to mold exposure and autoimmune conditions, her work blends science, functional testing, and individualized care to restore health at the cellular level.
But what I love most…
is that she leads with both knowledge and heart.
As a Latina in medicine, she’s not only creating access to this level of care…
she’s mentoring, educating, and showing others that we belong in these spaces too.
Because wellness isn’t a privilege.
It’s a birthright.
🌸Inside this feature, she shares:
• How she transitioned from conventional medicine to root-cause healing
• What people are really dealing with behind “normal labs”
• How she regulates her own nervous system while holding so much
• And what it means to be a Latina leading in wellness
If you’ve ever felt like something is off in your body but couldn’t get answers… this is for you.

Swipe for the shorter read. Thank you for reading until the end. I want to share this honestly, even though it feels uncomfortable.
I recently announced the Heart Coach Method breathwork certification and was preparing to go live in late Feb. But after this past week, with a few seizure episodes and some hand twitching for Sol, along with more things coming up, it’s clear that my focus needs to shift right now. His health needs more of my energy, my attention, and my capacity.
This is hard to share because it means pivoting publicly again and pausing something I worked hard on and believed in. It also means admitting that I cannot do this alone.
There’s been a lot happening in our lives over the past year. Some of it you’ve seen, and some of it I haven’t shared publicly. Through all of it, I’ve continued to show up for my work and my community because this work genuinely brings me joy. It gives me life and has helped me stay grounded while navigating everything else.
Sol turns three in April, which is a critical window for his therapies and brain development, and I want to know that I did everything I could to support him and didn’t let pride get in the way of asking for help when it mattered.
The Heart and Sol Tour is coming back with two stops in Austin and Cedar Park, followed by Dallas the following month. These events allow me to do what I love while also raising support for Sol’s care.
If you feel called to support the tour as a venue (looking for 100+),raffle,or by helping spread the word, or if you have connections to media, news outlets, podcasts, or platforms that help amplify stories like this, please email me at [email protected].
If you feel called to donate, you can head to the link in my bio to support us through our Support Now page. We recently switched from GoFundMe to Support Now since they take out less in fees, allowing more of the support to go directly toward Sol’s care.
If you feel called to help in other ways, including hosting or organizing a small fundraising event in your own community, that would mean so much to us.
Thank you for holding us and helping us raise awareness for families walking similar paths.
