My client was looking to go bold for spring and wanted to focus on adding lots of lightness around her face. When I work on hair this dark and I know I want a lot of lift I like to do 2 things.

1️⃣ Choose an area of focus and leave lots of depth. I know that I will need lots of time for processing so I want to keep my placement simple so the application is quick.

2️⃣ Work mainly in slices. I want dimension, not diffusion. Working with slices creates higher contrast because there is a bold visual difference between the dark and light. (It’s also easier to pick up the same pieces if we need sessions).”
