When you shave between waxing appointments, your hair growth cycle become uneven. Some hairs are actively growing while others are resting beneath the skin. Wax can only remove hairs that are long enough and in the active growth phase.
As a result, after your wax appointment, you may notice some hairs left behind or new hairs appearing shortly after your service. This doesn’t mean the wax didn’t work, it means those hairs were either too short to be removed or were still below the skin’s surface at the time of your appointment.
Staying consistent with waxing every 4 to 6 weeks and avoiding shaving between appointments helps get your hair growth back on the same cycle. Overtime, appointments become cleaner, smoother, and results tend to last longer.
