In May we talk about brain cancer awareness. Today we are launching Mind Matters. If you know me you know why this is so near and dear to my heart. If you don't keep reading.....

On January 19th 2011, my amazing mother lost her battle to Gioblastoma multiform brain tumor. She fought hard and long for about 18 months. She endured brain surgery that lasted almost 10 hours. The cancer was so far along that it had wrapped around her optical nerve and she lost her mobility and a big portion of her sight from the surgery. They were not able to get all of the tumor out because of its location and it eventually seeped into her spinal cord. This is so rare when it had happened to my mother her doctor only knew of 1 other patient that this happened to a well.

My happinest moment was when my daughter was born and while Mama wasn't able to be my doula like she was when my son was born, she did cut the cord. I am so grateful that she got to meet both her grandbabies before heading off to heaven 🖤

Mind Matters, our newest Foundation shade created to support brain cancer and brain tumor awareness, will be available today, 5/4 at 10:30 AM CT, 11:30 am EST.

In addition to this awareness-raising glitter nail strip, the Color Street Foundation is pledging a total of $150,000 to support three charitable organizations that raise awareness and fund research, treatment, and support services for those diagnosed with brain cancer and brain tumors: American Brain Tumor Association, Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, and Chad Tough Defeat DIPG.
