VA horror stories kept silent from the public
veteran su***de, veteran's mental health, VA benefits denial. veteran's treatment
If anyone has any experiences with the VA, good or bad, could you please post it? Thank you.
I know that I don't get on here that much. I apologize and for real i hate Facebook. Anyway, I was in a VA facility in the domicilliary program. I had infractions over the appearance of my room. I had bought vitamins and got in trouble over that. I was told yesterday that I was being discharged. Ok, fine, I was not given a reason. I'm ok with that because I'm sure that if I knew the reason it would be something so petty that the reason alone would send me through the roof.
The VA is not oriented for the veterans but more so towards the employees. Veterans entering the programs the VA has to offer are struggling as it is. The mental state we are in to have to turn to the VA is most likely the veteran is falling apart.
So, I was discharged with no notice just that I had to be out by 12 on the day of discharge.
I'm a quiet person and stay to myself. I worked in the VA handling trash. I worked 8 hours a day. It was something to keep me busy and to have a routine.
I would get upset about the constant breathalyzers they would make us take. Now it wouldn't have been so bad if we weren't woken up during the night. Veterans with PTSD are already on edge and constant nitpicking the employees are required to do is enough to trigger anxiety.
I would seriously advise not going into a VA program unless you had no other options.
On a political note this is a liberal playground. The staff looks down on veterans like we are everything wrong with society. I see a lot of the employees have entitlement issues. They treat veterans like they are above them or better than. If an employee feels they want to constantly point out a veteran to cause them more stress there's really nothing that can be done about it. We are the bottom of the barrel in a system designed for veterans. To report an employee for disrespectful behavior is useless. They look out for each other. The veteran is temporary while the employees are there waiting for their pensions.
From top to bottom the VA needs to be revamped. The spending is wasteful but the veterans have a rough road ahead of trying to get their payments. Veterans getting their compensation really goes to the core of the employees. That is essentially why they have contempt for the veterans. They chose college, veterans chose the military.

Hello people, I met a veteran today that was released from the Martinsburg VA facility. He's paralyzed from the waste down and was in a domicilliary program. When he was released he had nowhere to go.
This is the counter productive way of the VA system. They preach and push the su***de hotline but really put no work into really helping veteran's. The su***de hotline is no more than an illusion of getting help. Once you call that then they want to lock you away in a mental health ward. Just a temporary fix.
This is where the VA needs to get rid of the voucher system and help veteran's get stability in the community. In many ways the VA plants su***de in the mind. All you hear about is su***de prevention. The more the idea is put in someone's mind the more likely they are to commit su***de. Every time you call them or talk to a staff member they ask if you are suicidal. Its like subliminally being put in the back of the mind. This is liberal policies at work. They look good but have no positive effect whatsoever.

Please everyone I ask that you contribute to my page. The bad treatment of veteran's needs to be exposed. Even if you have a good comment about a VA that is welcomed also.

I've had countless issues at the VA facility in Perry Point, MD. I've been told by a staff member that I was not the right fit for there at that VA and did not belong there. I had a hud/vash voucher and lost it because I was at another person's house that was raided by the police. I had no idea that the people who owned the house were breaking into other homes. That very next day I lost my voucher. The VA assumed me guilty and never let me state my case to them. I went to court and all of my charges were dropped. I was homeless because of the housing officers opinion and the VA social worker talking to the housing office. I tried to get my voucher back but they refuse to let me have one.
Honestly, if a veteran is homeless there should be no voucher system. The veteran should automatically get housing. There's no voucher system for illegal immigrants.

Veteran's go to a VA facility to try and get the help they need. If it be in one of their programs or just help period. The VA talks an awful lot about su***de and pushes the su***de hotline heavily. Some veteran's turn to the VA with severe depression, anxiety, PTSD issues. Feeling lost, hopeless, desperate, no will to live, at the end of their road.
When a veteran gets into one of the VA's programs feeling like I have described and then get ridden hard by the VA staff, getting in serious trouble over issues that are really nothing. Kind of being poked while caged.
Veteran's are constantly kicked out of the programs the VA offers because the employees demand respect. Some employees have it out for a veteran and make their lives hell while trying to get help. They have that little bit of authority over veterans and abuse it. Now the veteran is on the street with nowhere to go. So Veteran's have committed su***de right on a VA facility by either a self inflicted gun shot wound, drinking drano, hanging themselves.
The counter productive policies at the VA make the VA not worth going to get the help needed because they have so many rules that add up to nothing and only makes life more complicated.
The VA seems as though they have places for a veteran to turn to and give them a su***de hotline like that's going to help.
Getting the compensated veteran's are entitled is another impossible subject. Illegal immigrants are treated much better than a veteran is treated
So I'm hoping for people to come to this page and leave their stories, comments, good or bad. Also, helping another veteran weave their way through the VA system would be an awesome thing because the employees won't tell you the benefits you're entitled to.
Hello, my name is Billy. I live in the Maryland area. I'm hoping that by starting this page the inside workings of the VA will be exposed and hopefully the exposure can be seen by all.
