My mom (retired CRNA) volunteered a hour away to give the vaccine to frontline workers. I am so proud!
While frontline workers are overrun with COVID patients I hope you are patient.
Please wear a mask 😷 Social Distance and stay safe at home.
If you think you are over this pandemic go a head and become a nurse or volunteer at the local vaccination locations. 🩹🦠💉

All the feels. 5 years is a very long time to wait and hope that everyone is doing the right thing. We all NEED to mask up and social distance. This is not the end of this pandemic war but is it a good way to fight.

When the power goes off in the operating room🕳
#1 Check your patient (Breathing, Pulse, pallor) use those medical skills you learned in school to assess

If you are on the vent and it stops working-
Get team helpers!
Use the ambu bag to oxygen supply if available use the cylinder second.
Ask for someone to string up propofol to keep patient sedated.
Ask for a portable monitor to check vital signs.

If the ventilator has back up power for the moment.
Check end tidal.
Turn on the lights that are on the machine towards the patient and room.

If there is a headlight or cellphone light 💡 Illuminate the field so the surgeon can finish best they can or get to a good place to pause.

Hopefully the back up generators kick on or power comes back online.
