I figured it's time for an updated about me, so if you haven't gotten to know me yet here's your chance!

My name is Autumn Spurlin and I'm a biracial woman born and raised in beautiful Batesville, Ar. I've always had a passion for hair and I'm so grateful God has given me the opportunity and support system needed to pursue this wonderful career. I live with my grandparents and am a proud parent to a rabbit (Seymour) and dog (Harper).

Now that I am out of school I plan to put my focus into ethnic haircare and styling. I plan to have a focus on braiding and hair cutting. Braiding is what got me into doing hair in the first place and I can't wait to do more of it!

Now here comes some random stuff about me outside of hair!

I struggle with POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome). So most days when I'm behind the chair it's with a Gatorade or liquid iv in hand. My favorite Gatorades are glacier cherry and of all the liquid iv flavors I have tried the ring pop cherry is my current fav!

I have quite a few hobbies. When I have the time at home (or in the case of crochet, in the salon) I am usually doing one of them. I play a lot of overwatch with my friends online, do diamond painting and crochet. I love crafts in general! I also enjoy the occasional deep dive into random stuff (big shout out to all the video essay creators on YouTube)

I love reading and watching TV shows/movies. My current favorite movie is Thunderbolts*. I'm currently reading Project Hail Mary!

I'm a very big fan of twenty one pilots and a lot of my time is spent talking about or listening to them. They've been my all time favorite band since I was 8 and have gotten me through so many tough times. It's pretty rare (never happens unless you catch me in my pajamas 🤣) to see me not wearing some form of their merch. The lore they have in their music is actually the inspiration for the name of my hair page! |-/

It's official! I have my 1500 hours and I'm graduated. I'm one step closer to getting my license and being able to start working. I will be taking a bit of a break to spend time with my family and get some things pulled together. I plan to start working at the end of July!

I just want to say thank you to everyone who has supported me through this journey. It's been a long couple of years, some of you know about my battles with my health, both mental and physical. I've dealt with injuries that kept me down and out for what felt like an eternity. Those battles made me feel defeated so many times, so often I thought I wouldn't be able to do this..Thanks to my family and friends (and doctors 🤣) I was able to do it! I've made so many good friends throughout this journey, rather it be classmates or clients and I'm so thankful for every last one of them.
