Your picky eater won't drink water. Won't drink juice. Will only accept one specific cup — and even then, maybe not.

And now it's summer in Houston and you're genuinely worried they're dehydrated.

Here's something most people don't realize: sensory food refusal often extends to drinks too. It's the same nervous system. The same texture and temperature sensitivities. Just applied to a cup instead of a plate.

The good news: fluids don't only come from drinking. New blog post covers the signs of dehydration to watch for, cup strategies that actually work for selective drinkers, and the hydrating foods most picky eaters will actually eat — link in bio.

Feeding your baby shouldn't feel like a battle.

If your little one turns away, cries the second the bottle appears, or takes just a few sips and shuts down — that's not your baby being difficult. And it's not you doing something wrong.

It might be bottle aversion: when a baby learns to link the bottle with stress, and starts refusing it even when they're hungry.

Here's the part most parents don't hear: pushing harder makes it worse. Pressure teaches your baby the bottle isn't safe. What actually brings feeding back is calm, low-pressure, and a plan.

That's exactly what I walk you through in Bottle Aversion 101 — a 30-minute, on-demand course. What it really is, the root causes to rule out, gentle strategies to try, and when to reach out for extra help. $15, instant access.

👇 Comment BOTTLE (or DM me BOTTLE) and I'll send you the link.

Save this for the next hard feed, and share it with a parent who needs to hear "it's not your fault" today. 💛

Does your baby seem to “fight” the bottle or breast? 🤱🍼 Many parents assume it’s just being difficult, but sometimes the root cause is physical.

Feeding is a full-body dance, and when a baby has torticollis, their body is stuck in “protection mode.” Because the muscles in the neck and jaw are connected, that tightness can make it physically difficult for them to latch, swallow, and breathe comfortably all at once.

If your baby is arching, pulling away, or seems frustrated during meals, they aren’t being difficult—they are telling you they are uncomfortable. 🤍

If you suspect torticollis is impacting your little one’s feeding, please don’t wait for them to “grow out of it.” Getting a professional assessment can make a world of difference for your baby’s comfort and your peace of mind.

We are here to support you with a “nose-to-toes” evaluation to see what’s really going on.

Your pediatrician said "look into feeding therapy" and now you're Googling at midnight trying to figure out what that even means.

Here's the short version: feeding therapy is specialized support for children who struggle with eating — not just "won't try new foods" picky eating, but kids who gag at textures, panic at mealtimes, or have dropped to a very small number of safe foods.

In Houston, you have options. And the right fit matters.

New blog post breaks down what feeding therapy actually looks like, who needs it, and what to ask when choosing a provider — link in bio.

We work with families across Houston and Bellaire at our clinic. If your gut says something is off with your child's eating, you're probably right.

What if "I don't like it" was actually a great answer?

In my pediatric feeding therapy practice in Bellaire, TX, I hand kids a little scale — from "no thank you" to "I love it" — and ask them to rate a food instead of finish it. There's no wrong score here. A "this is weird" counts. A single lick counts. Even just looking at it counts.

This is one of my favorite tools for autism and picky eating, too — it takes the demand out of the interaction entirely. No forced words, no forced bites. Just an honest scale a child can point to.

Take away the finish line and something interesting happens: kids get braver, because trying stops feeling risky.

Save this for your next tricky dinner. 💛
