Question: "Is it ok to use hair grease on my locs?"
Answer:Grease isn't always the best choice for several main reasons..

👉🏽BUILDUP..most petroleum and mineral-oil based products are thick, and hard to wash out of your locs and slowly begin to accumulate inside🤕
👉🏽ATTRACTS LINT/DIRT...grease sticky nature has a way of attracting lint, dust, and debris. Over time..it slowly becomes embedded inside😵‍💫
👉🏽SCALP ISSUES...while some find relief...others run the risk of developing issues due to the suffocation of your scalp😞
HERE ARE SOME ALTERNATIVES 😊
💁🏽‍♀️LIGHTWEIGHT OILS...some include, jojoba ,grapeseed and almond oil
💁🏽‍♀️WATER BASED MOISTURIZERS...rose water and water based sprays are great for your locs

🫡ALWAYS REMEMBER to wash locs at least once a month to remove any excess oils, grease, product build-up.

How often should I get a retwist?🤗
-it depends on your grade of hair, but typically anywhere between 6-8weeks

How long should I keep my styles/rope twists in?☺️
- no longer than 3 weeks MAX! Too much tension for too long can cause indentations throughout your locs

Should I shampoo my hair in between visits?
-YES! With oiling your scalp and applying moisturizer at some point your scalp will need to be cleansed

Do i need a detox?🤔
-only if NEEDED! If you work in conditions where a lot of dust and debris comes in contact with your locs..overtime you may need one. However, detoxing is NOT mandatory for healthy locs

Why dont my locs look like their locs?🥺
-different hair types produce different locs. Please dont have expectations on a certain look based on a pic when starting your journey. Your journey is YOUR journey 🥰

What is the LOC and LCO method?😵‍💫
-LCO=liquid(water), cream(moisturizer), oil
LOC= liquid, oil, cream
Each method is dependent on your hair porosity
*ask your loctician if you are unsure which category you fall under*

Should I cover my locs at bedtime🌙
-absolutely! This keeps.the frizz down and overtime the build up of cotton embedded in your locs

2. Average Recommendation💁🏽‍♀️ – For most locs, once a month works best. This keeps your scalp clean without stripping your strands.

3. Scalp Comes First🙋🏽‍♀️ – Focus on your scalp’s health. If it feels itchy, flaky, or heavy with buildup, it’s time for a wash — regardless of the calendar.


4. Don’t Overdo It🙅🏽‍♀️ – Washing too often with harsh shampoos can strip your natural oils and cause dryness or breakage.

Bottom line: wash when your scalp needs it, not just by the calendar🥰
