So another cool thing happens a few days ago 🤩

I’m honored to be a top 10 nominee for The Rainbow Convention placement categories. This is such a difficult category as everyone who enters really pushes the limit of what you’re capable of doing with hair.

I’m super proud of this look I created on Alana Lant she was a great client to have and was down for the crazy ideas that I had running through my head. Not just that but she killed the styling for this when I asked her to come in for photos a few days later. This look definitely was a collaborative effort and I’m super appreciative for her trusting my vision and being down to clown 🤡

Thank you The Rainbow Convention for the nomination and noticing me out of hundreds. There’s been a few competitions over the years but never one that focused on the creativity of vivid hair color. And I think it’s super awesome that Jordan Yanatos noticed that and created a space where we can really show off our artistry.

I’ve been entering HAIR AWARDS for over 5 years now. I didn’t think much of it at first, there are thousands of amazing artists that show up on social media everyday. Being a smaller creator i didn’t think i would ever get a nomination, but I entered anyway because why not? 3 years ago I got my first nomination, and even though I didn’t get top 25 it still was enough to tell me that my work is worth it. Every year my skills and creativity got better, and i continue to challenge myself. It goes to show that the time and effort you dedicate to your craft will only help you become an even better artist

I’m speechless 😱

This year has been one of the most challenging in my entire 32 years of life. With the sudden passing of my stepmom, trying to help my dad get back on his feet, then a car accident that has taken a toll on my mental health; My career has kind of been put on the back burner.

When HAIR AWARDS nominations started I didn’t expect much from it, not because I didn’t think I deserved it but because this year was so hard on me that I already wrote it off that it wasn’t going to happen. To my surprise when they announced nominations there my name was with one of my favorite looks over the past year.

The cherry on top was A Moraya Gonzalez being the same model that I got nominated with in 2023 as well as for the rainbow convention last year. She’s always believed in me and my work, and continues to tell me that she thinks I can do anything that I put my mind to. That kind of support is so important to me and I value her trust so much 🖤 I swear at this point she is my good luck charm.

The cutest clown I ever did see 🤡🎪

When Alana originally messaged me I had her send me a mood board of colors and styles that she was drawn to. She ended up making a cute little drawing (on the last slide) that she didn’t even show me until we were 3 hours into our appointment. The crazy thing it was pretty much exactly what I told her I was gonna do on her.

We were just so much in the same wavelength that her dream hair was what I was already cooking up in my brain, without ever getting that reference.

I had her come back Thursday morning as it was already really late when we finished up and I wanted to make sure we got really good pictures. I told her to do her makeup, dress up go as crazy as she wanted to and she really delivered. These are probably some of my favorite shots we got.
