SILICONE CHEMICAL REACTION IS A THING

This gal is a friend of mine. For her birthday I got her good detox shampoo and conditioner for her upcoming hair service. I knew she had alot of silicone buildup from years of using not such great products on her hair. I wanted to make sure the canvas was well detoxed so we didn't even attempt color for a couple months. At first she wanted to just add some warmer highlights. So I foiled her did a money piece. She had explained to me that they usually put her under the hair dryer forever to get her hair to even lift. I decided to not add heat her hair was lifting great. Rinsed it all and it was bright blonde around her face and warm blonde in the rest. She then decided she wanted to be bright blonde everywhere. So I did a second application of lightner but not in foils this time. I explained to let me know if it was unbearable it might be slightly uncomfortable but shouldn't be unbearable. She didnt mention it burning or anything when I went to rinse her her hair was hot to the touch!!! I lifted it up and it was smoking. It was in this moment I learned she wasn't using the stuff I got her she saw good reviews about some tik tok shampoo and conditioner. She also was using a store bought oil mid shaft to ends. Pictures 1 and 2 are what she started with 3 and 4 are after the second round of low volume lightner. Notice the orange ends this is from the oil she was using creating a barrier. The bottom pictures are a strand of hair I cut and applied lightner to see if it would even let us do more days later. Notice all the stuff on the strands that's build up from years of silicone ridden horrible hair stuff. The other ones are the best I could do with what were working with at this time. Moral of the story I shouldn't assume makes an ass out of you and me. Just because tik tok has good reviews doesn't mean it's good. When I test strand your hair and say nope there's a reason. Trust me I want the money but not at the cost of your hair.

I just had someone cancel 5 min after their appointment. If anyone has time for a color! I have from now until 1:15 open but would need you here by 10:45 at the latest. I'll give ya a hell of a deal on it.
