A little about the woman behind the jars…

I’m a North Dakota prairie girl, an artist/musician, a lifelong student of natural living, and the founder of True Image.

My path here wasn’t exactly a straight line.

I spent nearly 20 years in dentistry before stepping away and following a different path—one that led me deeper into natural living, traditional wisdom, botanicals, ingredients, and learning to question what we put on our bodies.

That curiosity eventually led me to tallow. 🦬

Then came the experimenting, the rendering, the botanicals, the essential oils, the messy kitchen counters, the testing, the learning… and eventually, True Image.

Today, I handcraft every jar in small batches with bison tallow and thoughtfully chosen botanical oils.

And those labels?

They’re my paintings. 🎨

There’s a whole lot more happening in our best-selling Autumn blend than a beautiful earthy scent.

We start with our rich bison tallow + cold-pressed extra-virgin olive oil base, then add five botanicals selected for their unique chemistry:

🌲 CEDARWOOD
Research has found antioxidant activity and effects on pathways involved in inflammation and oxidative stress—two areas that become increasingly relevant as skin matures.

🌲 BLACK SPRUCE
Black spruce has been studied for antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity. Antioxidants are especially interesting for mature skin because oxidative stress contributes to collagen and cellular damage over time.

🌿 VETIVER
This one gets really interesting. Research has looked at vetiver in relation to skin lipids, hydration and epidermal function—all important pieces of maintaining supple, well-supported mature skin.

🌾 PALMAROSA
Rich in geraniol, palmarosa has demonstrated antioxidant, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activity in laboratory research. It has also been studied for effects involving tyrosinase, an enzyme involved in melanin production.

🍊 NEROLI
Neroli brings antioxidant and antimicrobial activity to the botanical blend, along with a beautiful floral-citrus character.

And underneath all those botanicals?

🦬 BISON TALLOW — a rich, emollient lipid base.
🫒 EXTRA-VIRGIN OLIVE OIL — additional plant lipids and naturally occurring compounds.

Together, you’ve got a water-free lipid cream designed to soften, condition and support the skin barrier, while surrounding the formula with botanicals whose individual compounds have been scientifically investigated for properties relevant to mature skin.
