This one got me. 🥹🤎

She went into a salon with an inspiration picture, paid to have her hair done, and unfortunately walked out with something completely different than what she had asked for. She spent the next two days crying over her hair and genuinely didn’t believe it could be fixed.

She reached out to The Mane looking for help. None of us normally work Sundays, but when Jamie sent her situation in our group chat, I knew I wanted to take it on. Her inspiration → what she received → what we were able to correct it to.

Our goal was to get rid of the harsh contrast, bring depth and dimension back into her hair, soften everything together, and get her as close as possible to the beautiful dimensional brunette she originally wanted.

When we finished, she told me she loved it. Then she said, “Now I can go sit in my car and cry because I didn’t think it was fixable, and it’s just so beautiful.” 🥹

People say “it’s just hair,” but sometimes it really isn’t. She had already paid for a service, spent two days in tears, and came to us scared that there was nothing anyone could do. Being able to watch that fear turn into relief and happy tears is something I’ll remember for a long time.

She came in crying because she didn’t recognize the girl in the mirror and left crying because she finally felt beautiful again. 🤎

A little glimpse into today’s wedding glam, Three generations, each beautiful in their own way. 🤍

It’s been a hard year in so many ways, but also one full of good changes, new beginnings, and a whole lot of busy.

I’m taking the next few days to get away with my girls, slow down, recharge, and enjoy being present. I’ll be away from my phone as much as possible and may have limited cell service while we’re gone.

As for the salon and House of Magdala Boutique, I’ll answer all calls, texts, and messages when I’m back on October 9th.

For now, it’s time for fresh air, adventures, lots of laughs, and some much-needed time with my girls. 🏕️

A little scheduling update for all of my amazing clients

First, THANK YOU for being so understanding while I’m away at a conference for my other business, House of Magdala Boutique! I’ll be back behind the chair Thursday, but then I leave again Sunday and won’t be back until October 9th.

I also wanted to give everyone a heads-up that I’ll be having surgery on October 27th and will be out for approximately 4–6 weeks. I’m really hoping to be closer to the 4-week mark, but recovery will ultimately depend on how surgery goes and how my body heals.

With that being said, my availability before the holidays is going to be VERY limited. Between traveling, surgery, and recovery, there are only so many appointment days left before Thanksgiving and Christmas.

If you know you need your color refreshed, highlights touched up, extensions moved up, or just want your hair holiday-ready, PLEASE don’t wait until the last minute to book. I want to get as many of you taken care of as I can before I’m off!
