Ok ... enough about AI. 🤪

Let's get back to what Kinnaman Farms is really about. THE GOATS!

How many goats, past and present, can you name? Bonus points if you've met them on the farm.

Here’s a serious question…
My grandson told me I should stop using AI to create graphics and Facebook posts.
And it's bothered me all weekend. But, here’s how I see it: AI is just a tool that helps me manage everything I juggle. I work full-time, help David on the farm, create and package products, and promote our little business. I still have to come up with the ideas and the story — AI just helps me tell it.

What you don’t see behind the scenes is the back-and-forth. Me tweaking, adjusting, rewriting, refining. It still takes time, and it still comes from me.

I still…
• Come up with all the product and post ideas
• Choose the fragrances, names, and colors
• Decide the look, feel, and message

And AI helps me…
• Catch typos and clean up my writing
• I tweak the AI information until it feels like Kinnaman Farms
* I used it to create more cohesive labels ... and I think they look pretty darn good.
• It saves me time so I can focus on the hands-on work of running our farm and creating.

Interaction is so hit and miss and sales are down. Sometimes, I do feel like I'm wasting my time. I'm not sure if I'm boring you or it's the algorithm. And in all honesty, I will more than likely continue to use AI to assist me in teaching you about why I chose ingredients, how we care for the goats, telling you funny farm stories, what we are making, etc.

If you have read this far, THANK YOU! But ... here’s my genuine question: Does it bother you that I use AI? Let me know YES or NO.

✨ You might have noticed I’ve been a little quiet on social media lately…

I haven’t disappeared—I’ve just been busy behind the scenes giving our product labels a fresh new look! My goal was to make everything more cohesive while keeping that same Kinnaman Farms feel you’ve come to know.

Here’s a little sneak peek! 👀

I’d love to hear what you think! Do you like the new look? Is there a favorite label that catches your eye?

💬 Tell me in the comments! Your feedback means so much as we continue to grow and improve.

Friday's on the Farm 🐐🎃

Remember all those pumpkins you donated to the goats last fall? Well… your generosity is still giving back!

After the goats enjoyed your pumpkins, a few seeds stuck around and sprouted in David’s garden this spring. These surprise “volunteer” plants have already produced our first beautiful pumpkin of the season, with more to come!

Who knew a snack for the goats would turn into this year’s pumpkin patch? 🌱🎃

Last fall, we received our highest number of donated pumpkins ever — thanks to your kindness. Not only did your donations keep our goats happy and healthy, they helped reduce waste and even gifted us a fun surprise in the garden this year.

Thank you for your continued support. We truly appreciate each and every one of you.

Have you ever had a “volunteer” plant show up in your garden? We’d love to hear what popped up! 👇

🐐 Friday on the Farm: The Great Bottle Buffet 🍼😂

One spring, we had more bottle babies than we had hands to feed!

So, David came up with a solution. He built a bottle holder and mounted it to the wall so several babies could eat at the same time. We thought we were pretty clever... The babies had other plans. 🤣

Each little goat would grab a bottle, but before long, they'd start nudging and shoving the kid next to them. One by one, they'd push the baby on the far right right out of line! Then the goat that got bumped off would race around to the first bottle on the left and start all over again. Around and around they went, creating what looked like a furry little goat merry-go-round. It continued until every bottle was empty, and not one of them seemed to mind the extra exercise!

If you've never watched a group of hungry bottle babies invent their own version of musical chairs, you've missed out on one of the funniest sights on the farm. ❤️🐐

Have you ever seen baby animals do something that made you laugh out loud? We'd love to hear your story in the comments!

Myth Busting!
One thing we hear all the time is that goats will eat anything.

Honestly? Not true at all. They’re actually pretty picky! Once, we had a friend borrow a few of our goats to eat his poison ivy. You know what, they ate everything but the poison ivy.

Goats are super curious, though. They’ll sniff, nibble, and check out just about anything new with their lips, which is probably how this myth started. But just because they investigate something doesn’t mean they’re going to eat it.

Our goats need a good, balanced diet to stay healthy. They get quality hay, pasture, browse (like leaves, brush, and weeds), grain when needed, and always fresh, clean water. There are also quite a few plants and foods that aren’t safe for them, so we’re careful about what they can get into.

Around here, they’re way more interested in stretching up to grab leaves off a branch than chewing on something like a tin can! 🌿😄

Have you heard this saying before? What’s the funniest thing you’ve seen a goat try to check out?

We’d love to hear your stories in the comments! 🐐💚

❤️ Thank You for Being Part of Our Journey ❤️

As our 9th Birthday Celebration comes to a close, we've spent a lot of time looking back at where this adventure began.

What started with two goats named Barney and Betty turned into a freezer full of goat milk, a lot of research, a few soap-making disasters, and eventually a business we never imagined we'd have.

Over the years we've changed names, changed labels, changed recipes, changed equipment, changed locations, and tried more products than we can count. Some ideas stuck around. Some didn't. But every step taught us something and helped shape Kinnaman Farms into what it is today.

Through all those changes, one thing has remained constant: YOU.

Whether you've purchased a bar of soap, stopped by a vendor event, visited an Open House, shared a post, left a review, recommended us to a friend, or simply cheered us on from the sidelines, you've helped make these last nine years possible.

Running a small business isn't always easy, but you've made it rewarding beyond anything we could have imagined.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting our little farm, our family, and our dream.

We are truly grateful for every customer, every order, every conversation, and every friendship we've made along the way.

Here's to the next chapter of Kinnaman Farms. We can't wait to see where it takes us.

With gratitude,

❤️ Susan, David, and the Kinnaman Farms Crew

🐐 Thank you for being part of our story.

🤔 Not Every Idea Stuck Around!

Over the last nine years, we've tried our hand at a lot of different products here at Kinnaman Farms.

Some became customer favorites. Some are seasonal. And some... well... they served their purpose and taught us something before being retired. 😄

Over the years we've made:

🕯 Candles
🛁 Individual Sugar Scrub Balls
🧴 Solid Lotion Bars
🧔 Beard Oil
🌿 Bath Teas & Bath Salts
🦆 Duck Soaps

And while some of those products have gone by the wayside, others are still hanging around. Our bath fizzies have become a seasonal favorite and, speaking of fizzies, I'm getting ready to make some FUN summer-themed ones soon!

(Wink, wink... I think these might even be able to be mailed this time. 😉)

If you came to our Spring Open House, you may have noticed a couple of newer products that haven't made it to Etsy yet:

🧺 Goat Milk Laundry Soap
🌸 Fragrance Oil for diffusers, dryer balls, or refreshing old wax melts to make your house smell amazing.

And there's another new product currently in the testing phase. We're still tweaking and experimenting, but if all goes well, it won't be long before we share it with you.

One thing we've learned over the years is that innovation means trying new things. Not every idea sticks around, but every idea teaches us something and helps us grow.

Thank you for joining us on this adventure for the last nine years. We can't wait to see what the next nine bring!
