Has this happened to you during hair removal?

This type of histamine reaction can happen with hair removal because the process can irritate the skin, leading to the release of histamines. It’s a chemical reaction that’s caused by our immune system!
When hair is removed, especially through methods like waxing, threading, plucking, the hair follicles are disturbed. Causing the body to perceive it as an injury. This triggers the release of histamines, which can result in redness, swelling, itching, and other symptoms of inflammation.

But this is very common and can be minimized by avoiding any active topicals 7+ days prior, hydrating skin prior to hair removal, as well as being hydrated. Sensitive skin types can be prone to reactions. And sometimes it just happens when the skin isn’t used to the process. This client hadn’t had any brow maintenance for 3 months. Her hair was very grown.

Her skin returned to normal shortly after, about 15 min! Cool compresses help and of course, topping with a cooling gel always does the trick for me!
