“I’m ready to get married again.” 🤍

And just like that, we were wrapping up our second wedding morning together.

Two early mornings, two beautiful ceremonies, and two completely different bridal looks - each thoughtfully created for the traditions and celebrations surrounding them.

By Sunday, we were running on a little less sleep, but there was still plenty of laughter, conversation, and excitement as we put the finishing touches on Jes’s traditional Indian bridal makeup.

And honestly, I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

After 11 years of being welcomed into this family’s wedding celebrations, getting to be there for her turn as the bride meant so much.

It’s weekends like this that remind me why I love what I do.

The artistry is what brings me into these rooms. But the trust, the relationships, and the opportunity to be part of such meaningful moments are what make the early mornings and long days worth it.

And hearing her say she was ready to get married again?

The perfect way to end our weekend together. ❤️

There’s a moment at the end of almost every wedding morning that I love.

The last touch-up. The final mist of setting spray. One more look in the mirror.

And then… you’re ready.

This one felt especially sweet.

We laughed our way through those last few minutes, and when she looked at the finished makeup, she told me I had adjusted her foundation to exactly what she wanted - the perfect balance of light coverage.

That little comment meant so much to me.

Because this is exactly why I consider your preview part of the process, not the finished product.

It’s where I learn your face, your preferences and the nuances of what makes makeup feel right to you. I take what we learn together, make thoughtful adjustments, and bring all of it with me on your wedding day.

Sometimes it’s a different amount of coverage. A lash adjustment. A shift in color or finish. Tiny refinements that make the final look feel completely yours.

And after 11 years of knowing this particular face, hearing Jesica Chaya look in the mirror and say -

“I’m ready to get married.”

This moment definitely got me teary eyed. 🥹💕

There’s a moment on a wedding morning when everything starts to feel very real.

Makeup is almost finished. Hair is done. The dress is waiting. Someone is checking the time. And suddenly, all of the anticipation of the day ahead can find its way into your body before you’ve even realized it.

We were doing Sarra’s final touch-ups when I noticed she had stopped breathing.

I didn’t need to interrupt the moment or ask if she was okay. I just quietly exhaled with her.

And then -

“I was definitely not breathing… I didn’t even realize.”

One big inhale. One long exhale. And then we both laughed.

It was such a small exchange, but these are the moments I think about when I talk about the experience of having someone with you who has spent her career alongside brides as they get ready for their wedding day.

You learn to notice things.

When someone needs a little reassurance. When she needs a moment of quiet. When the energy in the room has shifted. When it’s time to keep things moving - and sometimes, when a bride simply needs a reminder to breathe.

None of that is technically part of applying makeup.

But to me, it has always been part of taking care of the person sitting in my chair.💕

“Just make my eyes pop.”

Sometimes that’s all I need.

You don’t have to sit in my chair knowing exactly which shadow tones flatter you, what lash shape will open your eyes, or how much definition will photograph beautifully without feeling like too much in person.

That’s my job.

She knew what she wanted to notice when she looked in the mirror: those beautiful blue eyes.

So every decision around them was made with that in mind - creating the right amount of contrast and definition to draw attention to her eyes while keeping the finished look fresh, polished and completely at home on her face.

And I think that’s an important part of the experience that can get overlooked.

You don’t need to speak makeup artist to communicate what you want.
