CU Fashion Design

Although CU Boulder does have some design classes, there is no major for fashion design here (CSU has a BS and MS program in this area). FDSA is the solution the the problem of students at CU having no formal outlet to expression fashion design! Our members primary goals are to learn how to design, sew, and alter clothing that may be flattering to the general public, as well as more exaggerated pieces that may be more suitable for Comic Con. As a means of testing our abilities, we produce and biannual fashion show for which we recruit any model of any size and any gender from the general CU population. As a benefit to the CU Boulder community, we teach our skills in small workshops throughout the semester, focusing on hemming large garments, creating small fun projects like bookmarks or coffee cup cozies.
