Shop with a Firefighter 2025!!!

What is Shop with a Firefighter: SWFF pairs a local in-need student from BVPS and places them with a L2499 Firefighter! Once paired, the two are "set loose" inside of Walmart with them guiding the FF around the store as they pick out whatever they want for Christmas while we help keep track of the budget and aid them around the store!

In the past 3 years we've helped over 30 kids from Bristol Virginia and we aim to help more this year! But, we need YOUR HELP! Jewel has now completed all of her heartworm treatments and she wants nothing more than a home of her own for Christmas. She had the best foster in the world who helped her during her treatments but true to fosters .. they have to let go to help another. True heroes who are never even seen! Jewel's foster taught her house training, how to ride in the backseat of a four door sedan and go thru McDonald's drive thru without begging for food, to sit and look gorgeous for photos. She is the total package! Jewels is spayed and practically perfect in every way! Let's make her Christmas wish come true!

Every year my girls get a trash bag(s) and fill it with toys and stuff animals that they no longer play with, they then put under the Tree for Santa to take back to North Pole, and he can fix them up and give them to children next year. I love doing this with them, and they absolutely love it! (I will take bags to Salvation Army or a Toy drop for Children)

My favorite kind of Christmas trees are the ones you can eat! 🎄😇 Save this Christmas party appetizer recipe idea! 🎄 This festive grape tree is the ‘pick’ of the season. Just ‘wrap’ a styrofoam cone in saran wrap, ‘stick’ your grapes on toothpicks, and arrange from largest at the bottom to smallest at the top for that perfect cone effect. Dip in caramel and nuts for a ‘tree-t’ that’s both sweet and healthy! Found the cone at Hobby Lobby and used about 4 pounds of grapes. It’s ‘vine-ally’ the holiday season, so let’s ‘raisin’ the roof with this fun and fruity centerpiece!

Abingdon, Va - area business donates culvert forms

“I work for Paramont Mfg in Abingdon. We donated a full 53’ flat bed full of modular culverts to Grindstone Ministries (operating out of Cherry Grove Baptist Church in Jonesborough TN) and they are going to use these to recover water crossings that were washed away during the floods. Would love to let people know that if they are relatively close to that area and need a bridge at their house…or know of a place that needs a rebuilt crossing, to contact Grindstone and put in a request.”
