Seven years ago I left my corporate job in fashion not sure what I was going to do next but knowing I needed to make a change. I had two young children and felt the constant pull of balancing motherhood and a career that I had worked hard at but required a lot of me. I craved balance, flexibility, connection, and let's be honest, had lost my passion for fashion. I wanted to be excited about what I was doing, and I wanted to do it on my own terms. Not long after leaving my job and following a few eye-opening interviews and job offers, I made the totally-not-like-me decision to build something of my own. I had the idea to shake up the body care category with a less is more approach to your daily shower routine. I consulted during the days and built my brand at night, and in April 2017 launched Meant.

After much deliberation and with mixed feelings, I have made the difficult decision to say goodbye to Meant. My family life has pulled me in a different direction and it's time to move on and focus on this next important chapter of my life. I'm proud of what I've built with Meant. I have amazingly loyal customers whom I will forever be grateful for. You have trusted me with your showers; opened my emails; followed me on social media; written kind reviews; told your friends and family about Meant, and most importantly, supported my dream.

I have been noticeably (well maybe to some 😉) MIA for a while now. Luckily the business is hanging in there but it was life that got complicated as it has for all of us. These past 5 months I've been trying to juggle running a small business by myself while also being the main caregiver, teacher, cook, cleaner, camp counselor, and playmate to my 6 and 7-year olds - in our Brooklyn apartment. There have been some really good days, and I won't lie, some not great days. I am; however, extremely fortunate and grateful that I work for myself and haven't had the added pressures of working full-time corporate while trying to care for my kids (I don't know how those parents are doing it 🙌🏼). But the honest truth is that I can't do both or at least both well. I'm just trying to keep my head above water at this stage. So I've taken a break from posting to Instagram and have been focused on my family and making sure that the business keeps running, customers keep getting their orders and emails are answered. And right now we're at the beach because mental health should also be a priority in times like these - for all of us. Hopefully, I'll be back to posting more regularly but please know that I'm still here in spirit and always prioritizing customer service. Be safe and well everyone. 💙
