We’ve been working to make it faster, easier to navigate, and a better place to learn about Mop Maker, how it works, and why we made it.

Now we want to know how it’s working for you.

We spend a lot of time looking at reports and numbers, but nothing beats hearing from the people actually using the site.

Mop Maker is small-batch by design.

We manufacture one batch at a time, and we don’t contact our manufacturers about making the next one until the current batch sells out.

So when we say we’re sold out, we’re actually sold out. There can be a wait before the next batch is ready.

Why do it this way?

We’re a small company, but it also gives us the chance to learn from every batch, hear what people think, make adjustments where they’re needed, and make sure we’re putting our money into making a product people actually want.

You’ve been patient. And we owe you an honest explanation for why this took longer than expected.

The color was the problem.

We use natural dyes, which means no synthetic chemicals, and no staining. Other hair concealers go synthetic because it’s cheaper and easier to control. But that’s also why those products will stain your skin, your collar, and your pillowcase. We weren’t willing to do that.

The tradeoff with natural dyes is that they’re less predictable. The color output can shift from batch to batch depending on how the raw materials were sourced and processed. Getting consistent shades across a full production run is genuinely hard to do.

The other problem was the water phase of our manufacturing process. With a larger amount of powder, the dye has to bind evenly throughout — otherwise the color comes out patchy or too light. We had to rebuild that part of the formula from scratch.

t took a few extra months but we got it right.

One thing worth keeping top of mind, especially if you’re a woman reading this. Mop Maker’s faded brown color is built to match natural hair tones. If your hair color is close to what you were born with, you’ll get a great match. If it’s heavily dyed, the blend may not be quite as seamless...and if your hair is on the darker end, the powder may lighten it slightly. Worth knowing before you order.
