Fall Roll Call: Who's Who Kiera Nagle, MA, LMT, CLC
Valorie Wallace, BA, LMT, CMLDT (she/her) found through a lifetime of curiosity for how bodies adapt to changes. Exposure to world-dance styles, group rhythm making, and rivers, inspired her to share the relief available when tissues are nourished and we stay connected to each other. Raised around the forests of the Pacific Northwest, she values how our body responds to caretaking our part in the natural world.
Recently, Val moved to NYC from Oregon, where she had a beautiful practice alongside her best friend. Hands-on full-time for a decade, she has cultivated deep listening skills and studied several eastern and western modalities with communities of interdisciplinary practitioners. Her massage style is greatly shaped by mentors and lineages from Tui Na and barefoot work, emphasizing the properties of fascia. Often, her work combines modalities which oscillate between tissue layers, using elements of myofascial, abdominal/diaphragm care, and craniosacral, to provide a journey-like experience. This approach has supported people regaining comfort and mobility after gender-affirming procedures. Valorie is also certified in manual lymphatic drainage, or which she enjoys providing as a stand alone service, or incorporated into other massage sessions.
With a deep love for book-study, and appreciation of science, she helps clients navigate modern “wellness” and contextualize and alchemize with the fundamental and grounding components of ancient and indigenous approaches to hands-on care. She trained at EastWest College in Portland, OR, maintains a presence with Moving Mountain Institute, and attends Axis Syllabus classes and research conferences whenever she can. Valorie is overjoyed to find shared values for trauma-informed, holistic care with this team and offering perinatal care on a more regular basis.
Valorie has regular Tues aft/eve and Wed + Fri am/aft shifts and regularly substitutes for other therapists Kiera Nagle, MA, LMT, CLC
