Basil Leaves For Hair Growth
Hello ladies, do you know basil leaves help with hair growth and repair? Most commonly known as âTulsiâ in India, the basil plant is a leafy herb belonging to the mint family.
It is called 'SCENT LEAF'' by some folks in Africa
Basil Leaf is highly medicinal not only for hair alone but for the body in general but as usual I shall be talking about its benefits to hair. Basil leaf prevents hair loss when you massage the oil into your scalp and hair frequently.
It helps cool the scalp, reduces itchiness, and promotes hair growth by improving blood circulation in your scalp. For those complaining of brittle/ thinning /weak hair, massage it into your scalp as itâs effective in strengthening the hair shaft.
Do you complain of unhealthy hair? Then you can try basil leaves as it helps in rejuvenating and producing healthy hair by stimulating the hair follicles.
Basil leaves have antioxidant properties, they contain flavonoids, orientin, and vicenin that protect the chromosomes and cell structures from oxidation, thus preventing cell aging and death and providing protection against radiation damage. It helps prevent grey hair also.
So to our DIY Queens, you can try it and tell us the outcome.
Directions:
Pick the leaves
Rinse with warm water (do not squeeze)
Dry them
Blend using a hand/manual blender or the traditional mortar
Add a cup of Sunflower /Olive or Coconut oil
Mix them together
Cover and leave in the fridge for 5 days11 days
Strain and pour the oil into a bottle, and leave the oil permanently in the fridge for freshness(I left mine outside the fridge, and after 11days it went bad so I will advise you to make a little quantity at a time)
FOR PREVENTION OF GREY HAIR & SHEDDING
Soak dried basil leaves powder and Amla powder in water overnight and wash your hair with it after straining it the next morning.

Traction Alopecia Treatment
Traction Alopecia is a type of hair loss that results from subjecting the hair to excessive pulling force. It is usually caused by over-styling of the hair with tight buns, weaves, and braids but can also be caused by excessive use of the wrong hair chemicals. It is usually a short-term condition and can easily be reversed if the action causing it is stopped.
So what to do :
1. Stop braiding your hair or wearing it in ponytails and buns. Keeping your hair tightly bound for long periods is a leading cause of traction alopecia.
2. Stop using harsh chemicals. Relaxers are the major culprit here but wrong hair dyes, and wrong hair-straightening chemicals can weaken the tensile strength of your hair and cause it to detach and fall out more easily.
3. Don't pull your hair. Just plain take your hand out of that hair.
4 . In some rare cases it can result from an iron deficiency so boost up your diet with iron-rich foods like beef, beans, cereals, fruits, and vegetables
Traction alopecia causes scarring of the hair follicle. Hair lost from permanently scarred follicles will not regrow. And for those already experiencing it, u may need to see a doctor/dermatologist who can determine your stage, and prescribe an appropriate treatment.
However, Here Are Some Natural Ways To Fight Back Traction Alopecia
1. Onion Juice Treatment - Onion juice encourages circulation around the hair follicles which is pretty much what the scalp needs to jump-start growth. It has been known to regenerate hair follicles as well. Application - Cut your onion into chunks, blend, and strain the mixture. Apply to the affected areas of your skin with a cotton ball twice daily.
2. Red Pepper Treatment - It is applied to the scalp as a poultice to act as a skin irritant. This draws blood and nutrients around the applied area and triggers the release of histamines that stimulate cell division and hair follicle production. It is also a natural source of vitamins A, B, E, and biotin - essential vitamins for growing and maintaining healthy hair. Application - Blend your pepper into a paste with a little warm water and olive oil. Apply on the scalp, and leave the paste for 20 minutes unless your scalp gets overly irritated before the time expires. Then rinse thoroughly, ensuring nothing is left on the scalp and hair.
3. Vitamin E - Simply apply directly to the scalp or mix with other oils for daily use.
4. Castor Oil - Castor oil is full of essential fatty acids that deliver nutrients to the hair and scalp. Apply a little during the day on your way out. At night apply a little more than earlier, cover your hair with a towel for at least 15 to 20 minutes, or allow it to set overnight. Then u rinse out in the morning.
Cheers!!!!!!

Understanding Spine Pain And Management
Spine pain is pain felt in the back or neck. Although most pain is temporary, it may reoccur. The leading cause of this pain is a sprain in the ligament or muscle strain. In most cases, this may happen due to the activity youâre not accustomed to, such as picking up a heavy load, moving furniture, etc.
Pain due to spinal damage is rare. In some cases, this may be a condition one was born with. Most patients may suffer from other symptoms such as weakness, stiffness, or numbness in the arms and legs. Spine issues do not affect bowel and bladder functioning.
Conditions Causing Spine Pain
â Abnormal Curvature:
Natural curves of the spine balance the body, when curves become too pronounced or suffer from a twist or extra cure, additional pressure on the discs and vertebrates results in pain.
â Fractures
These may occur due to an injury, repeated stress, or even a condition such as osteoporosis that causes bones to go weak and brittle.
â Degenerated Disc
The natural aging or wear-and-tear results in degenerated discs, which irritate spinal nerves and lead to instability, causing pain.
â Bulging Disc
The weak outer wall of the spinal disc can bulge towards the nerves causing painful nerve irritation.
â Herniated Disc
The rupture or tearing of the outer wall of a spinal disc can cause the soft material in the disc to squeeze out and press on the adjoining nerves. The patient may experience weakness in the legs, numbness, or pain in the back.
â Instability
Slipping of connecting vertebrae back and forth can cause spinal instability. In some cases, this happens even when the vertebrae permanently shift out of position.
â Stenosis
The condition is characterized by the narrowing of the spinal canal. It can press on the spinal cord and nerves leading to pain and other symptoms.
â Nerve Complications
Nerve complications may lead to weakness, pain, numbness, and other issues in the body.
Symptoms of Spine Pain
Apart from pain, a patient may experience other symptoms such as
â˘Dizziness
â˘Headaches
â˘Unexplained weight gain or loss
â˘Sexual dysfunction
â˘Weakness, slow reflexes â˘Numbness
â˘Tingling (pins and needles)
â˘Fever, chills, sweating
â˘Bowel or bladder problems
â˘Stress or emotional issues
When To See a Doctor In case you experience any of the above-listed symptoms, it is essential to consult a doctor or a spine specialist as soon as possible. If you feel that spine pain has become a hurdle in your daily activities, reach out to a doctor. You may need special care and spine pain management under the guidance of an expert.
Diagnosis and Tests
Before suggesting a treatment, your doctor may conduct a sequence of exams or tests. This will help your doctor to understand the exact cause of your spine pain. Some of the standard tests conducted in this respect include the following listed below:
1. Physical Exam: The doctor will assess the patientâs body and its movement. Simple exercises can help determine a patientâs strength, flexibility, tenderness (moving parts of the body), sensation and sensitivity, reflexes, and motor skills.
â X-ray: Details of pictures of bones, organs, and tissues are created by beams of low-dose radiation on film.
â MRI Magnetic: Resonance Imaging uses a magnetic field and radio waves to create images. The test helps display details of soft-tissue structures such as nerves in and around the spine.
â CT Scan: Computed tomography (CT) is a test that uses a computer and X-rays to create cross-section views (âslicesâ) of various areas of the body. It can highlight abnormal tissue and display bone detail.
â Bone Density: Scan The scan uses an x-ray or ultrasound to measure the exact amount of bone in a specific area. It can help detect and assess osteoporosis (a condition characterized by thinning of bones).
2. Electrodiagnostic: Testing This term covers a wide range of tests to measure electrical activity in muscles and nerves.
The most common tests include:
â˘Electromyogram (EMG)
â˘Nerve conduction study (NCS

Tips On How To Grow Your Natural Hair Using Rice Water
Do you want to grow your natural hair faster and longer? Do you constantly ask this question "How can I grow my hair longer and faster?
Well, I used to ask this same question and I am also aware that a lot of ladies ask this question when embarking on a natural hair journey or trying to grow their kinky hair.
To get longer hair and to make it grow fast you don't have to look farther than your kitchen.
I'm here to tell you how to use some ingredients we use in cooking and also some food items to grow your natural hair faster and longer.
Below Are Some Tips To Grow Your Natural Hair Using Rice Water
A. WATER
Water helps in hair growth. The most important thing to do for our hair and body is to drink enough water. Staying hydrated is very important. By drinking water regularly your skin, scalp, and body will function properly.
When you are dehydrated your hair growth becomes staunched.
You can also use a spraying bottle fill it with water and spray your natural hair at least twice a week.
B. RICE WATER
What is rice water? Rice water is the starchy water that remains after rice is cooked or left to soak. Rice water contains many of the vitamins and minerals contained in rice itself. They include Amino acids, Vitamin B, Vitamin E, and antioxidants.
Benefits of Rice Water
- Rice water de-tangles the hair
- It increases the shine and makes the hair stronger
- It helps the hair grow faster and longer
How To Make Rice Water
There are different methods to make rice water and i will only be sharing 3 of these of them.
Method 1: SOAKING
This is the quickest way to make rice water.
Take 1/2 cup of uncooked rice
Rinse the rice
Put the rice in a clean bowl with 2-3 cups of water
Leave it to soak for 30 minutes
Strain the rice water into a separate clean bowl
Then pour your rice water into a spraying bottle
Method 2: FERMENTTATION
Some people prefer to use this method because it has more benefits than the other
methods. To ferment rice water use the same steps as the soaking method, but you'll soak the rice for 48 hours before straining the rice water. In this method, you have more nutrients because the water was soaked for a long period.
Method 3: BOILING
Another way to make rice water is by boiling it.
pour your rice into boiling water, when the rice is per-boiled, strain the water from the per-boiled rice and allow the rice water to cool down before using it.
HOW TO USE RICE WATER
- Wash hair with shampoo
- Rinse your hair
- Pour the rice water on your hair
- Massage it into the hair and scalp
- Cover your hair with a shower cap and leave it for about 20 minutes
- Rinse hair using warm water
You can store your rice water in the fridge for one week.
Happy Hair Grooming!!!

BENEFITS OF SCALP MASSAGES FOR HAIR GROWTH
Massaging your hair scalp helps to stimulate growth, it increases the blood flow to the massaged areas, and also increases blood flow to your hair follicles.
Benefits Of Massaging Your Scalp
Particularly it's so important for hair growth, mainly because there are nutrients deposited in your blood that the hair follicles need, to activate hair growth.
This Includes:
Protein
Iron
Vitamin C
Omega-3s
Vitamin A
Zinc
Selenium
Biotin (a type of vitamin B) and more.
Massaging allows our hair to breathe, it is also one important function of blood, which is transporting the needed oxygen throughout your body.
The hair follicles have hyperactive stem cells, and they just love all the extra flow of oxygen which enables them to grow the hair.
How To Massage Your Scalp
A. Start by spritzing your hair and scalp with a spritz mixture consisting of rose water, vegetable glycerin, filtered water, and 10 drops each of Rosemary essential oil and Peppermint essential oil.
B. Then apply half a teaspoon of Jojoba oil to your scalp and hair.
C. Use your fingertips to massage your scalp for about 3-4 minutes.
Do you include scalp massages in your hair care regimen? Try to do so and enjoy the benefits.
Enjoy your hair care journey!

How To Do Rod Set On Natural Hair
Hello Naturalisters, I will be sharing how to do a rod set on your natural hair for beautifully defined curls in this post. Suppose you are interested to read another post about natural hair.
How To Do A Rod Set
What Youâll Need:
1. Spray bottle with your favorite leave-in and water mixed together
2. Oil or hair butter
3. Gel or setting lotion
4. Rollers (foam, perm, flexi-rods magnetic, take your pick)
5. Wide tooth comb
Directions:
1. Working in sections and starting on dry hair, spray hair with leave-in mix until damp, and then apply oil or butter to hair.
2. Detangle hair using a wide tooth-comb or your fingers.
3. Wrap ends of rollers around hair, pull hair taunt, and continue to roll hair up to the scalp.
4. Repeat until all sections are completed. If any section starts to get dry, spray with leave-in mix.
5. Let dry completely.
6. When dry, take down the rollers and gently separate hair with fingers to create volume. DO NOT COMB!
Notes:
1. What makes this sleek is the technique, not the product. You will need to make sure the sections are small and you are pulling hair taut when rolling.
2. The gel or setting lotion is optional, but if you use it, the style will last an extra day or two and resist frizz.
3. If your hair is not completely dry when you undo the style, it will frizz. Depending on how damp your hair is and the rollers you use, it could take upwards of 24 hours. Feel free to sit under a dryer to speed up the process.
4. To make the style last, just put it up in a ponytail, or if your hair is short, make small ponytails. Do not apply water, this will make the style frizz and shrink the hair
5. Depending on the hair, you could get 3 days to over a week out of the style

Coffee For Hair Growth
Hey Naturalisters, hope we are doing good and grooming our hair properly. So today sharing with you all how to grow your hair with coffee.
Do you by any means know, that your favorite breakfast drink can help grow your stunted hair?
This discovery was made after some researchers went to work. Their findings were published in the International Journal of Dermatology and it concludes that caffeine is âa stimulator of human hair growthâ
Below Is What The Researchers Did
â˘They took biopsies from the scalps of 14 men in the early stages of hair loss.
â˘They then exposed the hair follicles to solutions containing different levels of caffeine.
â˘They also exposed some of the follicles to DHT, the hormone responsible for hair loss.
â˘After 8 days, even the hair follicles exposed to the DHT showed growth.
Growth was greatest in follicles that were placed in solutions of caffeine only. So how much caffeine are we talking about here? *Before brewing a cup of coffee to drink for hair, wait and read below.
Unfortunately, a few extra cups of coffee arenât going to do much.
Scientists estimate up to 60 cups a day would be needed for significant amounts to reach follicles in the scalp.
So thatâs only about 6000mg of caffeine, which might regrow your hair but which will be too risky for the heart. Instead of drinking coffee for hair growth, it will be better you rub a caffeine-rich solution into the scalp either in the way of a shampoo, a hair mask, etc.
How To Make Your Coffee Shampoo
â˘Boil a cup of water
â˘Add a tablespoon of coffee
â˘Mix with your black soap
â˘Allow to dissolve
â˘Apply to your scalp and hair
â˘Leave for 30mins -1hr
â˘Wash your hair
Tips: Prepare just a little quantity, itâs ideal to use this once a month
How To Make A Coffee Hair Mask
â˘Brew a pot of coffee (dark coffee, not instant coffee because most of them have additives)
â˘Make a strong brew
â˘Allow to cool to a warm temperature
â˘Add a teaspoon of EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) or blackseed oil (for some moisturizing effect)
â˘While the coffee is still cooling down
â˘Shampoo your hair and rinse thoroughly
â˘Allow hair to dry. Apply the coffee mask, cover it with a shower cap(s), and allow it to remain in your hair for 30mins
â˘Rinse hair thoroughly with warm water
Note: Be careful not to use instant coffee as it may damage your hair and make sure you prefer a black hair color cos coffee will automatically color your hair black.
WARNING!!! Itâs ideal to use either the coffee shampoo or the coffee hair mask once a month cos caffeine will absorb into the skin and through the bloodstream.
